Now that the summer has officially come to a close and the fall here, it’s almost time to hang up the summer dresses and wrap up for the cooler months ahead. Almost, lol. You guys know I love my animal print, and I’ve found the cutest dresses recently, I just had to wear them before it gets too cold here in NYC.
I’ve been experimenting with a lot more prints recently… florals, houndstooth and of course my favorite animal prints! What’s your favorite pattern to wear?
Summer fashion is all about experimenting with different styles! Two of my favorite trends this summer are color blocking and cute patterns! I wore this super cute patterned romper during my trip to NYC recently. Super easy to just throw on with a pair of casual sandals. Rompers are definitely my go-to summer item when I just need an outfit that’s stylish, comfy and takes minimal effort to put together.
I’m obsessed with my new yellow/lime Birkin bag! It adds a pop of color to every outfit. I went shopping a few days ago in a very nude and neutral outfit (I had no idea my outfit would match the La Perla store bag, lol) and added a pop of color with the bag. I think this summer it’s all about adding a bright accessory… shoes, statement earrings, a bright purse or even a colorful scarf.
I’ve been wearing a lot of jackets with shoulder detailing recently and I’m really loving this look. Some fun detailing like the metal studded shoulder and cuff patches on the jacket I wore in Cape Town can turn a basic jacket into a more contemporary, stylish piece. If you’re adventurous you could even add your own studs or chains to a sweater or jacket you already have!
I think highlighting the shoulders can be a really flattering look for curvier girls like me because it draws the attention away from your lower body and accentuates the shoulder area, balancing out your look.
