Do you like my new lashes?

July 21, 2008 / 228 Comments

My makeup artist Stephen tried new lashes on me for Jimmy Kimmel. They are Mac No. 35. I am loving them! I do not wear fake lashes daily, but they are great for photo shoots, special events and tv stuff! When I answered questions before about fake lashes, I mentioned I wore a company called Red Cherry, which I still love, but these new MAC ones I really am into!

I also have read comments where some of you have said I claimed to never wear fake lashes. I never said that, so please go back and re-read my answer…

Question: Kim….You, your mom and your sisters eyelashes are ALWAYS beautiful. I
wanted to know what brand you use or where do you guys get them done?

Answer:  We wear a company called Red Cherry, but Khloe never wears them.
Kourtney, my mom and I only wear them out at night to events or
parties. We have very long eye lashes to start with and the trick is to
use two different kinds of mascara and really take your time putting it
on!

I wish I knew how to put them on myself! Do you know how to put on fake eyelashes? Any tricks to make it easier you can share with me?

What do you guys think of these Mac lashes? I think they kind of look like spiders but very cool and definitely not as scary!

Do you like my new look?

I decided to try out my lighter eye make up look. And don’t laugh, I want your opinion! I usually ask my sisters these sorts of questions, but I want to be able to bounce things off you, too! …

I am sooo loving Lorac makeup right now!

I recently tried their new glam rocks pigment shadow in their color called “metallic pearl.” I used the Mac Black Zoom mascara which I love! And then I added this Lorac perfectly lit powder called “spotlight!” It gives you a shimmer all over! I love it!

Do you guys like the lighter eye makeup look or the smokey eye look better on me? (I can handle criticism, but be nice!)

You’ve got it, now flaunt it!

Tanning time!

It’s summer and I know you all are trying to get that glowing tone in your skin to suit the season! Here are some questions I received recently on tanning. I hope you find my answers useful!…

L’apetta da miele says:
Hey Kim! I love your glowing skin, you always have the perfect tan!!!… What is your personal opinion about sunless tanning??? Love you!!! xoxo

I tried sunless tanning one time, right before New Year’s Eve. I was tan and it was great, but I felt a little orange. I have a hard time not showering for 8 hours with that tanning stuff on. I am Armenian, so I naturally have an olive complexion. I want to try the spray tan again sometime.

Latinafan says:
I was wondering do you tan at all?

I know spray tanning is better, but I have only tried it once. I definitely love to lay out in the sun and tan when I’m on vacation!

Aileen says:
Hi Kim, I just wanted to let you know that you have beautiful skin and you give great info about makeup and stuff. But I wanted to know if you like to go indoor tanning or do you think it’s too bad for you skin? Thanks xoxo

I do use a tanning booth, maybe every six months or so, once or twice. I do it if I need a tan fast! Spray tanning is obviously a lot better for you!

Mona says:
Hey Kim! I’d really love your “sun-kissed” look, what is your favorite make-up bronzer to use on your face/body??

I love MAC bronzers! I try to use a darker pressed powder like NC45, instead of bronzers with shimmer, because it tends to look to shiny sometimes.

Introducing the new and improved DASH!

June 25, 2008 / 72 Comments

Hey Everyone!

I’m so psyched because our DASH store site just got a HUGE makeover! Check it out here!!!

We have added tons more merchandise and so much more will be added daily! We have divided sections by designer, so you can easily find your favorite one. Or if you are looking for a specific type of outfit, you can shop by category (dresses, shorts, swimwear, etc.).

Another exciting way to shop on the site is “by trend.” There you will find our store’s offerings divided by my glamorous favorites, Khloe’s picks and Kourtney’s preferred items. We also point out must haves so you can keep your wardrobe up-to-date!

I hope you find the site to be as fun as I do! Let me know in the comments area what you think!

Xoxo,

Kim

Shopping in Monaco

June 10, 2008 / 125 Comments

Hey guys,

We are having so much fun in Monaco! Kourtney and I worked with Access Hollywood to show them around the area!

I am wearing a Paul & Joe jumper with Christian Louboutin cow heels and my mom’s vintage Moschino belt. Funny story: I almost lost it!

You may notice I started off the day wearing it then forgot it at a store when I was trying on another belt. Not to worry… I later realized it was gone and ran back for it!

Close call. Do you have any recent stories of nearly losing a precious item of yours or leaving your keys in your house, only to lock yourself out? Let me know in the comments area!

Ashlee’s nose, my career and oil control

June 6, 2008 / 99 Comments

Today I offer you a menagerie of beauty tips to ponder as you get ready for weekend! And if you have been wondering about the back story on Ashlee Simpson’s nose job, I have some details to share. I also discuss how I got started in the styling business, how to control oil and which facials I like to get.

Bella says:
Hey Kim, I love the show… very interesting. My family is kinda like yours except my mom isn’t as cool. I’m hailing from the Bahamas and I wanted to know how you got your start as a stylist?

I started off styling for my mom and Bruce when they were filming infomercials. I fell in love with it and built it from there. It’s all about reputation. It’s hard work and if you are good, good news travels fast and you will always work! You need to start off being an assistant to a stylist to learn the ropes.

Nataly says:
Hey Kim, I love all of the beauty tips you give! Thank you! I do have one question… Do you by any chance have any tips or advice on how to control oily skin? I get really irritated sometimes because i put my make-up on and about 30 minutes later my face is really shiny and I feel like my make-up is coming off. Please let me know what you think. I would really appreciate it.

I would try to use oil free makeup and powder. Also carry blot papers that you can use occasionally to control oil throughout the day. Here’s another awesome-yet-funny tip: You can use toilet seat covers to blot your face. It’s basically the same material as blot papers and their free! Ha ha!

Nevra says:
Hey Kim… When I was young I had a nice cute nose but as I started
growing up my nose started to have a big bump on it. None of my family
members have it except for me. I’m 20 years old now and I really want
to tget rid of this ugly bump on my nose. It makes my nose look soo
much bigger. I researched on rhinoplasty, but I’m not so confident on
where to do it. I heard it is much better to do it in the states but I
live in Montreal, Canada, and I’m not sure if they are good or not an I
don’t know anyone that has had rhinoplasty. I don’t want my parents to
know. Only me and my boyfriend know. Could you please tell me where
would you recommend me to do it? I really want to get this done soon.
Thanks a lot, Kim. XOXO
P.S. Your nose is perfect. I would LOVE to have your nose.

Thanks for the compliment, Nevra! I have done my research too,
actually. I have decided that I’m too scared to do it… but the Dr.
who did Ashlee Simpson’s nose is…
