I feel compelled to speak about something that is in my head and my heart. Over the years, I’ve had to grow a thick skin. Being in the public eye, there are times I feel like I get criticized for any and everything I do. I’m used to it now. I just choose not to feed into negativity or become consumed by it.

The problem comes in when I get attacked for giving and trying to help people. My dad always taught me the importance of giving back. I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world. I do it because I want to. I do it because my dad taught me to. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts.

I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions. This month it’s for the people of the Philippines, last month was Life Change Community Church.

In regards to these eBay auctions, when the eBay numbers get broken down, the auction management agency that posts for me gets a percentage for all of their hard work, then eBay listing fees, end of auction fees, eBay Store fees, Paypal fees, etc., all add up to about half of the sale. Then I give 10% to a charity.

Truth is how the # is broken down, is neither here nor there. The people of the Philippines need all of our help, no matter how big or small.

Over the last 5+ years, I have listed thousands of items on eBay Giving Works for various causes. I will continue to do what is in my heart and am happy to know many others have enjoyed purchasing from me, as they too are giving with me.

Giving comes from the heart. We all need to be reminded of this as we celebrate the holiday season this year.

Sorry i have been gone for so long! it stopped letting me comment on phone! the fact that you have to address this is so sad! it’s nobody elses bussiness but yours! you are the most kindess and sweetest person, i don’t get why people don’t see that, and that they feel they have to be so negative towards you. You are not rude, you care about your fans, you love your family with all your heart, and give 10% of ALL your earnings, so i don’t see their problem. I have been a fan for so long, and will always support you, don’t ever let the haters get to you. You are beautiful inside and out! people need to stop asuming things. And these days if you tell that you donate, they think it’s just for publicity, and if you don’t say, they think that you don’t donate, cant win :( love you always kim!!! xoxoxo

People r never happy with anything you do but your true fans know that you give from the heart always. From day one that you have Ben in the spotlight you never have come across as a person that would never give. Forget those that think less of you. You know who you are and that’s most important. Your dad would be proud of you. Xo

      Hey Kim,

I am a huge fan. I always follow you and I am really happy that you are giving to charities. That is really motivational for me and how I would like to be when I be successful in my career. One thing that upset me though is that the eBay auction should not have been publicized as “for charity.” Bc that gives a wrong idea when people look at it at first glance. Technically it would mean every job that you do is “for charity.” Like every red carpet event is “for charity” It would have been more honorable had you been giving your 10% privately (without the public’s awareness as you normally do) through your eBay actions. If it’s going to be publicized as for a good cause, it has to be a significantly greater sum… But at the same time it is wrong to condemn your actions. Giving to those in needs is always right and unfortunately for you, no good deed goes unpunished. … I think in the future “donations and charities” should not be advertised. I mean if people ask you, be honest.. but the issue was with the advertising of the auctions. But at the end of the day your heart was in the right place. No one has any right to pass judgement on you based on what or how much you give.

… dolls I know I do these auctions so I can make money from you stans … but it is so rude that I don’t get away with the scam … KW has charities that raise lots of $$$ from his not so bright fans and he doesn’t give any of the money to a cause … he keeps it all!!!

More lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She doesn’t have to pay fees like regular folks, who have to pay listing and a percentage of total sale, because it IS a charity auction..When you do charity auctions, you also get preferential postings on TOP of the page, so many many more people SEE them..that 10% you donate ends up giving you a LOT more $$ back in sales.

    • ashleyforreal  |   Posted on Dec 10th, 2013

Kim, you can NOT worry about what others say or think about you! You are doing what’s in your heart! I have never questioned your contributions to charities. To begin with, it is YOUR money, it is YOUR choice to give….or not, but we all know you choose to give back! I may not have the funds you do, but I do what I can. I’m a HUGE animal lover so I contribute to the Humane Society by dropping off bags/cans of dog/cat food.
People will always judge YOU, there is NO reason for you to explain what or where you contribute…the point is – you do!
Whether it be 10 dollars or 10 thousand, people will always judge you!
That is THEIR flaw in life, not yours!
I can tell you have a good heart, keep doing you, don’t even pay mind to those who judge you – they have NO right to judge!
      I’m proud of you! xoxo

I see no reason why you have to answer to anyone what you do with YOUR money is your business. I think it’s great that you share but you don’t have to and you surely don’t have to justifie it to any one but thanks for helping ppl in need

  4. KayleeElizabeth  |   Posted on Dec 10th, 2013

You are a wonderful person who doesn’t deserve to be criticized for helping others. You are not obligated to donate money, but you found it in your heart to do so, and that’s great. A lot of people complaining that you didn’t donate enough probably didn’t donate any money. God knows your heart, and you don’t owe anyone an excuse.

    • shorts  |   Posted on Jul 30th

Here is the problem with your statement. The auction was setup as ALL proceeds will go to help the people. What is your definition of ALL. 10% is not all. If you started by saying I’m giving 10% of all that I make on this auction that would be great and I would applaud you. But is you start a charity auction and tell me 90% of everything you make goes to overhead?? You don’t see a problem.

  5. jcred2201  |   Posted on Dec 10th, 2013

I was just thinking about this topic, because a day or two ago there was some stupid article I read that talked about how little you do for charities. But the fact is, as you said, just because you don’t flaunt what you do for others doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I’m glad you spoke out about this. Keep on doing you, because it make you and your loved ones happy and you help people all over the world.

  6. 7sasha1  |   Posted on Dec 10th, 2013

Don’t mind the negativity. Giving is giving no matter the amount. I’m sure the people criticizing you don’t even give half as much or anything at all.

  7. Kim,

I just wanted you to know that not everyone talks bad or thinks bad about you. I look up to you and wish I can continue to be a strong, independent, hard working mother as yourself. I don’t care what people say about you or what is said in the media. The things you do are so much more then what everyone else does. People need to stop hating and Love one another and maybe just maybe this world will be a better place. God is always with and sees all you do and you don’t have to answer to no one but him. It seems like you have a great heart and a great family….you are blessed.

    Your fan Raquel :)

They fail to understand Kim but those who do such as myself know the true you and love you for all you do. Never allow them to hurt you for that is exactly what they want to do to you. You are a woman of strength, virtue and integrity any person with a portion of a brain would comprehend that. <3

I don’t even see why you had to explain this to anyone. Not everyone can do what you do and shouldn’t question what actually came from your heart! Those people to me are stupid and ignorant. You do well not to feed into them. Like KEVIN HART says, “Do you Boo Boo, Do You”.. Love ya!!

    • shorts  |   Posted on Jul 30th

She should have to explain why the statement ALL proceeds only came out to 10%.
