Update on Zeke
I just received an update about Zeke, the brave young man who got sick three weeks ago and discovered his heart was failing and his only option was a heart transplant.
Zeke is still without a suitable donor, so doctors decided yesterday Zeke’s failing heart and health could not wait any longer and he underwent a life saving surgery to prolong his battle. After hours in the operating room Zeke is awake and in good condition thanks to an artificial heart called the SynCardia Total Artificial heart. This amazing technology has prolonged his life and will allow Zeke to wait until a donor is found.
I’m told Zeke has been reading all of the news on his situation and can’t believe all of the support he has been receiving from total strangers, which continues to inspire him.
I am really happy to hear this positive news. Zeke, you are in my thoughts and prayers!
More info about Zeke and how you can donate and help his cause here.

May God bless him! it is great news to hear that he has gotten the heart transplant that he needed. Zeke you are in all of our thoughts and prayers and just because someone doesn’t know you personally it doesn’t mean they don’t care.. good luck to you and i hope you recover well :) Kim thank you for bringing him to our attention..i definitely kept him in my prayers. it’s good that we all as people help each other out as best we can and be supportive.
That’s wonderful news. My thoughts and prayers are still with Zeke and his entire family.
kim thank you so much for sharing this with us <3 may god bless him
Same here you r in my prayers two:)
Kim, thank you for sharing. My husband and I just lost our one year old daughter due to a heart defect/ heart failure. As a family who had to watch their daughter spend most of her young life in the hospital, we appreciate you bringing awareness to people who are suffering due to heart failure.
I love that you support this cause!! It makes me love you guys so much more! :-) It’s not the only reason, but rather one of many. Though I am a kidney recipient and don’t have a whole lot in common with Zeke, I still wish him the very best with his health. Being practically a pioneer (ha ha) in this transplant stuff, I do wish that every patient gets to “live the dream” like I have been gratefully able to. I can’t believe it will be 22 years already this summer (July 3rd) since I recieved my kidney!!!!
I’m also in a big medical study right now…my doctor wants to know if taking a patient off of Enalapril ( Ehn-nahl-uh-prill) (a blood pressure medication that I have been on the past almost 22) can prolong the life of a transplanted organ. He wants to extend the life of my kidney for 10 more years then normal!! If he is able to make this work, it will be a huge miracle in medicine!!
Plus, I’d like to be around for as long as I possibly can! :-P :-D
Glad to hear some good news!!! :)
