Midweek Makeup: Moon Manicures
I’m seeing moon manicures, or reverse French manicures, everywhere this season! Moon manicures actually originated in the 1930s when women would paint only the middle section of the nail, leaving the top and the base bare.
It’s a fun retro look to try and is actually easier than it looks! I found a how-to guide on Jezebel. To create the moon shape at the base, you can use round reinforcement circles for notebook paper from an office supply store. Cut them in half to create the moon shape and stick on the bottom of your nails. Then apply the nail polish color of your choice.
If you want the moon to be a different color, paint the full nail that color and then once dry, apply the reinforcement circle and paint over the top part of the nail with the other color! A new take on a retro look!
Try this look with our Kardashian Kolor holiday colors for Nicole by OPI.
Let me know if any of you guys try it out! Xo
