A Romantic Weekend in Italy
I thought I was going away to work, but it was really a birthday trip! What an amazing surprise!!
We started in Rome, saw the Colosseum, went to the Vatican and saw the Sistine Chaple. So breathtaking!
Then we went to Florence and stayed in this incredible castle, saw Michelangelo’s David, and shopped around town. We saw all the sights, visited some beautiful churches and all the famous monuments.
The last stop on the trip was Venice, where I spent my birthday. What a romantic weekend! One I’ll never forget. Xo

I visited Italy 6 years ago and we went to the same cities in the same order! We saw all the same things too including St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome…SO gorgeous and the Pieta statue (Mary holding her son Jesus) left unfinished by Michael Angelo inside of The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore which is in Florence…and also St. Mark’s Square in and Murano Glass Co. in Venice. On top of the whole trip I was sick before leaving with a kidney infection I didn’t know I had until we got to Italy and also had a painful knee!!! I had to walk around a lot on brick and stone roads which was hard and could barely eat anything but survived and went straight to the emergency room when I got home!! Everyone I know has asked how I was able to handle the trip, and not remember everything bad that had happened…I was 3,000 miles from home and ONLY had Tylenol to take away the pain I was having…and we had been in contact only twice on the vacation with a doctor because of the 7 hr. time difference!! But I do have a LOT more good memories then bad ones so that’s how I can remember the trip and not remember too much about the pain I was in!! I had a good time there anyway :-)
