Just Want to Clear Something Up…
So on this week’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians I said that I thought Indian food was disgusting. In NO way was this intended as an insult to the Indian people or their culture. This is just my own personal taste. There are a lot of foods I don’t like… I hate cilantro and peppers, and there are definitely some Armenian foods that I personally find disgusting, but that doesn’t reflect my opinions on other Armenian people or my culture. My comment wasn’t intended to offend anybody. We all have our own opinions and tastes and I was simply expressing mine.

Hey Kim,
I am an Indian (Living in India) and I am a huge fan. I finda felt wierd when you said it, but then again I know its just food and there are so many things that I cant just eat or even look at. So I know what place u are coming from.
Xoxo
I love a lot of Indian food, it is one of my favourite cuisines – but that said, there’s also lots of Indian food I really don’t like… and I wouldn’t expect everyone to like it. I loved on the last season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians when Kourtney, Scott, Khloe, Bruce and Kris went to an Indian restaurant, though. Now I know why Kim wasn’t there!
I highly doubt that you read these comments, but I felt this was the only way to slightly express to you how insulted I was when you made that comment about Indian food. I am not upset that you don’t like Indian food. I’m perfectly fine with that. Not everyone likes everything and that’s ok. But the way you expressed your opinion was really truly just rude. Keep in mind you’re opinion is being broadcasted on national television, and you should really make the effort to be more tactful. I never had a problem with you or any of the Kardashians but after hearing you bash my culture and something that’s very much a part of my life, I have lost a lot of respect for you.
Hey don’t worry Kim if you don’t like Indian food it’s all good. I’m East Indian and I sometimes don’t like eating it either I hate the smell especially when my family cooks it at home, my family eats Indian food everyday and I get sick of it I was born here in Canada and I’ve never been back home in India my life. So it’s nothing to take offense of.
I understand U dislike the Indian food and love the canadian food bcz U were born there. Find but I wonder if U ‘actually’ call the food which Ur family members eat ‘DISGUSTING’.
If U really do, I’m sorry for Ur family members.
That is so pathetic. Says so much about how you were brought up. There is nothing to be proud of not liking your culture or food. I feel sorry for you and too bad that you do not even like your own roots!!
And Indian food isn’t that bad to eat some people love it some people hate everyone has there own opinions of what type of food they don’t like. Everyone is different .
No body in their right mind is going to deny the fact that every individual is different and is bound to have different tastes. No body cud possibly deny that people might like or dislike a particular item of food or in general a cusine.
But no body except a dim headed moron like Kim shall call any food ‘DISGUSTING’.
Agree again 100%
probably only a matter of choice of words in expressing something and I might say the same word for the food that I dont like .. and I also believe when you put out the word you dont want to offend anybody, I like the way you write here to explain it :)
It’s cool for everyone to have their own opinions… that’s fine. What’s not fine is letting a personal opinion leave your mouth without tact. We have to keep in mind that even though we have our opinions there are ways of conveying your point without coming off offensive. Case & point… look at the following…
Option 1: ” Indian food is disgusting”. Kim K
~OR~
Option 2: “I’ve tried Indian food, and it’s an acquired taste”. Me
See the difference? No one’s perfect, but just be tactful.
=)
peace and God bless
If I assume U are not an Indian. …
I wonder if U wud take it in such a peaceful way, if Kim had called Ur food, which U cook and eat daily and love it ‘DISGUSTING’ instead of just saying ‘I didn’t like it’.
I agree with you 200% Nanda. My feeling exactly. Well said!!
Oh shut the hell up!! She obviously wasnt trying to offend anyone!! Get off her blog & live your sad , pathetic life . Some people are just way to sensitive !
Why don’t you SHUT the hell up? I am Indian and I take offense to this. I never blog or waste my precious time on useless people like you with pathetic lives. But this one needs to be taken up. Obviously you are not an Indian and do not dare coming to India or trying our food!!
I am an Indian woman living in USA. Not only me, but any rightful minded Indian will take total offense to what you said. That was rude, inappopriate and uncalled for. And you call yourself a Celebrity? If you have personal opinion regarding other cultures keep your big mouht SHUT and not say anything at all. By opening your stupid mouth, you lost severel hundred million INDIAN fans.. if you thought that you gave personal opinion on Indian food and culture, let me give you my personal opinion on you. You are worthless, lowly female and Indians have no respect for you. I am not using other unprofessional million words as adjectives for you since I cannot STOOP down to your level. You are no one as far as I am concerned and you are no celebrity, becoz you do not behave like one, actually the opposite. You are stupid, money hungry, third rate idiot and all your shows should be BANNED BIG TIME. I condem your comments 100% and may be the Indian community should sue you!!! May be we will!! Do not ever dare to enter India!
Wow congrats Neha, that’s really something, commendable.
Okay after watching this episode I thought that probably wasn’t smart but honestly if it were me and my friends or family I would say the same about something I disliked and thought was disgusting maybe she should of chose better words but everyone always complains she is not real and when she is you still complain. She can not and will not make everyone happy but if you don’t like her why waste your time writing on here. She is human she will make mistakes but like everyone here she breaths oxygen bleeds red and she can only be so careful before she just has no control of who she is. Be you and honestly I think if you weren’t famous people would still complain because misery loves company. Have a great life Kim and her whole family!
Alicia! U don’t seem 2 believe in whatever defence U r trying 2 put in favour of Dim.
Nobody is expected 2 make everybody happy, but that doesn’t mean U publicly abuse a civilization and their food.
Humanly one might make mistakes but as a celeb one is supposed 2 be more careful in choosing not just better words but also proper words and it becomes a must. She wasn’t after all having a family chat inside the four walls of her sweet home, or wasn’t making some snide comments inside her head. She was going public.
Most importantly I insist U read carefully once again the comments she had posted in this post in apology. She did never apologize for calling Indian food disgusting.
People r bound 2 react till she publicly makes a statement of proper and clear apology rather than trying 2 sound something diplomatic.
She crossed all her limits of civilized existence by calling a food disgusting and she can’t just get over with it by saying that those words weren’t meant to offend Indians and then adding her own countries name in the middle now, by additionally calling Armenian food also disgusting.
She must clearly apologize if she’s so human and made just a mistake.
