It’s About Time! Thank You Obama!
Wow… I just heard that President Obama has officially announced that he supports gay marriage!! This is such a huge step forward in our country’s fight for civil rights and I hope that today this will give hope to so many young people across the country.
We’ve never had a president so supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and today I am proud to be an American!! I’m so happy that our country is making history and moving forward. No more living in the past!

Kim your suppose to be a christian. Same sex marriages are against god will. Yes god loves everyone but he hates the sin. If you say your a christian you shouldn’t be saying gay marriages are right. God made marriage for men and women.

I think if there is a god I would think he/she would want everyone to be happy and everyone to be treated equal.Im not against anyone who is religious and I dont want to offend anyones beliefs. If there is some holy being that created everything I doubt he;d be so short sided and judgmental. I doubt im being a sinner by saying I give my blessing to 2 people in love whether theyre gay straight or lesbian. In my opinion everyone should have equal rights. Doesnt affect me one bit.
The Bible has been written and revised according to historians, so how can you say what God wants or not? And by the way, so many people had sexual relations outside their marriage, so I don’t see where you got that idea? It sounds like American social norms to me because it couldn’ve come from The Bible or history.

I think the bible is more of like a book of morals but also its to control you. Alot of religous people in our country are really filled with hate and don’t want to help the poor or want equality. Some people think the bible is literal and some think it’s to give you lessons on life. I cant believe there was a talking snake or burning bush or that Jonah lived in a whale. I mean its kind of common sense would you believe if someone today told you that? Theres new religions all the time. What happened to say the greek gods? People believed in them for a long time. Theres new religions all the time. Mormonism is fairly new. I find it hard to believe. Which is why I say. Equality <3

Actually Paris, if you study the bible there are actually MANY points in the bible where homosexuality is completely accepted, and actually encouraged by God. I can say this because am currently studying Theology at a Christian college and can provide sources/ bible verses if you so wish.
I do respect your opinion though, I am a devout Christian myself. The church shouldn’t be asking the question “Who do you love?” but rather “DO you love?”

I dont think it matters. I too am a christian myself but I can careless about if someone is in a same sex marriage or relationship or not because its not going against what “I” practice. What they do have nothing to do with me because, neither does it affect me. Thats how people should think about it. @paris a same sex marriage is not going to effect you. You keep practing your religion and worry about you not others. They are not affecting anything going on in your life.
