Inspirational Females: Sara Blakely
Hi dolls!! There are so many amazing business women out there who inspire me and so I wanted to tell you guys about a few of them in my new blog feature… Inspirational Females!
One of these woman is Sara Blakely. Sara is the founder of Spanx, and the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire!!
Like many successful business women, Sara was inspired by her own need for a product she felt millions of woman needed… pantyhose without seams, and that didn’t roll up when you cut the foot off! She invested her life savings into researching and launching her product, and in 2000 launched Spanx, running her business from her own home and doing all the marketing and outreach herself. I read that when the department stores started picking up her products, she would go into the stores and move her products around so that they were displayed exactly how she wanted to to be, and where customers could see them! She really believed in her brand and her product and now millions of women worldwide thank Sara for her amazing creation.
Sara also recognizes the importance of giving back. Her foundation, The Sara Blakely Foundation, is dedicated to changing women’s lives through education and entrepreneurship, and giving women the boost they need to succeed in business.
Sara Blakely stands as an example of a strong, passionate, smart woman who took big risks in life to follow her dreams of success. I think a lot of times people are too scared of failure, or worried that they don’t have what it takes to achieve their dreams. Sometimes you have to take chances to get where you want to go!

@Farz I agree with you, people can say whatever they want at end of the day $$$$ goes to her bank account, she has the MIDAS touch and knows how and when to use it.

Because someone is rich dosen’t make this person is bad!!! in business world you will not survive if you act as nun or priest, you don’t need necessary to be cruel as Adolf Hitler, but you need to have guts especially if you are a woman, i understand some people make enormous mistakes, some are necessary others don’t, but is life , you have to make mistakes to learn from them.

Such as using Chinese children in sweatshops so she doesn’t have to pay as much? It’s just greedy. Just because alot of business people are that way doesn’t make it ok. I know my sense of humor can be crude sometimes :) But a little debate never hurt anyone.

What exactly is inspiring? You’ve never answered and I’m guessing the reason is you don’t have a very good answer. Is it inspiring that her clothes are made in sweatshops by children??? Or that she made and profited off a sex t@pe? Actually it must be that she wears f*r even though the an!mals are t0rtured and sk!nned al!ve before she gets them. All for fashion I guess. Nice role model. Very inspiring.

Good business people abide by ethical practices and don’t have their products made in sw*atshops.
Unfortunately there are ALOT of bad business people like the Kardashian’s. They don’t care about anyone else’s well being. They want more money in the bank and don’t care about the people making them rich.
of course there are so many people like Kardashian’s….just look at the fan following..these 10-20 girls who type ‘i love you doll’ every single day and Kim is their inspiration, what do you think they wouldn’t do what Kim does… They sure will…it wouldn’t hurt them torturing the animals for their fashion..they wouldn’t mind children making clothes for them…and so on! RIDICULOUS!
