Just because you have a cat or cats does not make you an expert on the subject. I have 5 dogs and they get sick and I don’t know why. Not even all doctors know what the heck is going on with people and their illnesses. FYI : you are all mentioning how mother kittens pick up there cats by the neck so it must be okay??? no, it’s not. They have no choice in the matter and that is in their nature to pick up their babies like that. Go to a veterinarian and ask them what is the correct way to hold kittens, and they will tell u that its by scruffing them which is what she is doing…since it’s a kitten there’s no need to support the body, if it were an adult cat then u can scruff them and support the weight of the body with ur other hand…if u dont wanna go to a vet just google it and you will see…it’s not painful or cruel ;)

kim , there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way you’re holding that cat ! it might look uncomfortable for the cat but it’s not . it’s used to it because that’s how the mother handles it . that’s like saying it’s not right to cradle a baby . beautiful!
