We like to consider our nation one that promotes equality. But isn’t
that a little hypocritical considering there are so many people in this
country who are denied the most basic civil rights? It shouldn’t matter
if you are straight, gay, bisexual, black, white, rich, poor… every citizen
deserves to be treated as an equal.

My good friend Joe Francis visited Washington DC this weekend to take part in the National Equality March
and marched with thousands of gay rights activists all standing up for
gay rights and rallying to demand that President Obama stand by what he
promised this weekend at the Human Rights Campaign.

I think what President Obama has said he will do to move gay
rights forward is such a huge step in the right direction. It is a
breath of fresh air to see a leader be so open minded, modern and
understanding of people of all lifestyles. I just hope he stands by his
word. Equal rights for everyone!!!!!

  1. Just because someone is Christian doesn’t mean they can’t believe in gay rights or support the gay community. Just because it is the bible doesn’t mean it is right. I love that Kim supports equality. And yes, the US is hypocritical at times.

  2. The bible is a guidline for those that wish it to be. It is not a rule book.

  3. Karina, your views of Christianity are so close-minded. I am a Catholic, and I try to live my life by my faith but I have no problem with gay marriage. That does not make me hypocritical! The Bible professes that we love one another – that means everyone..

  4. Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you
LOL god hates shellfish as much as gays?

    • God doesn’t hate gays. It’s the sin, not the sinner. Who says that in order to be a Christian you have to be anti-gay? That doesn’t make any sense considering it was Christ who said judge not lest ye be judged.

  5. … it does NOT mean: love one another, except people that are gay. I believe that gay marriage is a crime – all people were created equal – no one race/religion/gender/sexuality is better than another. We should all be entitled to get married. End of!!

    • I’m not sure if you saw this earlier, but I am a supporter of gay rights. I just thought Kim’s stand was a bit hypocritical. We should love one another, it is not in our place to judge those who sin, but I don’t think she should support sin as a Christian.

  6. I honestly meant no disrespect towards any of you and I am glad you are all sharing your opinions with me and I respect them all. I just wanted to share what I personally believed and I apoligize to anyone who was offended. Much love & respect to all :-)

    • oh karina, you just feel like an idiot now, face it. calling someone a name and then saying “no disrespect” doesnt excuse your name calling.

      • No, actually I don’t feel like an idiot at all. I meant what I said, I didn’t change my opinion on the subject. But what I said, I said with respect. Again, I don’t believe in hurting others & bringing them down.

    • I can see what you’re saying. Kim believes in gay rights, but associates herself with a Church that has an atrocious human rights record. But sometimes it’s those inside the system who bring about progress. I know an ex-priest who has done amazing things.

  7. We need to stop calling homosexuality a “sin” and an “abomination” – that is disgraceful!! Kim is not supporting a sin, she is supporting EQUALITY for all mankind. Supporting gay marriage does NOT make me any less Catholic – I feel that opposing it would.

    • Darling, I am not calling homosexuality a ‘sin and’ an ‘abomination’. Those are the exact from the Bible itself, not from myself.

  8. By the way… in an earlier post I typed “I believe that gay marriage is a crime”… I meant “Gay marriage is NOT a crime”!! What an unfortunate word to leave out!

Here’s to Obama legalizing gay marriage and hoping that the rest of the world follows suit!

  9. hey kim!
i love that you are supporting this b.c everyone has a right to love whoever they want
tomorrow is my 16th birthday and it would be AMAZING
if you could give me a shout out or something!
i love you soooo much and you are my role model
    i love you!

  10. I love the kardashians myself and support them in every way, but Karina does have a point about kim.
But i agree we all need equal rights!
