We like to consider our nation one that promotes equality. But isn’t
that a little hypocritical considering there are so many people in this
country who are denied the most basic civil rights? It shouldn’t matter
if you are straight, gay, bisexual, black, white, rich, poor… every citizen
deserves to be treated as an equal.

My good friend Joe Francis visited Washington DC this weekend to take part in the National Equality March
and marched with thousands of gay rights activists all standing up for
gay rights and rallying to demand that President Obama stand by what he
promised this weekend at the Human Rights Campaign.

I think what President Obama has said he will do to move gay
rights forward is such a huge step in the right direction. It is a
breath of fresh air to see a leader be so open minded, modern and
understanding of people of all lifestyles. I just hope he stands by his
word. Equal rights for everyone!!!!!

You can’t call anyone out on being hypocritical because you are very hypocritical yourself. You claim on Twitter that you are Christian and stand strong in your faith, yet you are supporting gay rights, which the Bible clearly opposes. Need the verse??

u know what? just because she is Christian does not mean she is not allowed to have feelings and thoughts that are not “biblical” there is nothing wrong with wanting equal rights for everyone no matter what sexual preference, gender, religiion. let her be!

Thank you Farzeen! Giving everybody respect and equality is nothing to do with religion! It’s about basic rights as a human being, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexuality.

I meant no disrespect Kim. I just don’t believe that it is right to believe and obey one part of the Bible and then completely ignore and not believe in the other. We are not to judge those who are sinners, but supporting them to me is also a sin. Much Luv

You said it so right..I cant add anything to that, its good to know that there are still people out there, that knows what the Bible states. If Kim is a true christian, then she would stand up for what the Bible says, not what people want to hear. Strong??

Thanks! The only reason I made the comment is because I don’t think it’s OK for people to only choose certain parts of the Bible to live by. If you live by a certain part of the Bible, what makes someone think that it’s OK to disobey another part? Hmm..

Many are christian but few stand strong by their faith. It’s unchristian to have sex before marriage. How many christians are guilty of that? How many have proof of it on video? I’m sure all of us sinners have cast stones, the celebs just get heard easier.

actually karina i would like the verse. o also, is there one in there about rapists? molestors? petophiles? murderers? incest? because surely they’re abominations as well.

    • Sandukht  |   Posted on Oct 20th, 2009

Yes it is very hypocritical I doubth if KK understands the implications of promoting this if she calls herself a true Christian ,is this because she has gay friends or she wants more fame?

hey! i am so happy that people are going to be treated equally. i have many gay friends and i wish that everyone can be treated fairly.

I never said she was not allowed to have her own opinions. All I am saying is that Kim stated “Jesus is always in my heart & I live my life with faith,” yet she is supporting a sin. I have nothing against Kim, but no need to call our country out on being..

  6. Karina.  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2009

CONTINUED: ..hypocritical if she herself is a hypocrite. Now that’s what you call hypocritical. I say this with all due respect and with no intentions of bringing Kim down. Much Love for you Kim.

Oh and one more thing, I am also a supporter of gay rights, just to get that out of the way. But then again, I don’t go around claiming to live a life standing strong in my faith. So really the comment I left was more meant to show her of her hypocrisy.

  8. Aoifxxx  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2009

The Bible is old, translated and cannot be taken word for word. Christianity is all well and good, but when it started it was seen as a “cult” and was repressed. Clearly, opinions change and ideas change – if opinions and ideas about Christianity have…

  9. Aoifxxx  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2009

… been able to change so much since the beginning of the religion, then opinions and ideas about what Christianity entails and means can also change.

      AMEN

    • Karina.  |   Posted on Oct 13th, 2009

I understand that ideas and opinions have changed regarding Christianity, but there are SEVERAL verses in the Bible that state that God created man & woman for one another, I suppose for emphasis. Regardless of how much has changed, I don’t think this has.
