Women in Afghanistan

I was watching the news and saw this Afghan woman, Farida Bayat, who is running for office. She gets death threats every day simply because she is a woman running for one of the nine provincial council seats set aside for women. The news story also mentioned that women in Afghanistan have been jailed for being raped because it is considered committing adultery! So shocking and sad. I hate how women are viewed. I really commend Farida for wanting to change
the way women are viewed and being brave enough to take a stand!

    I am not of that decent nor middle eastern but my love is Lebanese and Saudi Arabian and it upsets me on his own belief’s and we’re here in America. How would I go about supporting those women across the sea’s? I hear storys like Farida Bayat all the time.

    wow, im soo glad you posted this! I am a Muslim teen living in the USA and its so inspiring to see things like this. Women everywhere should be equal and with time things are beginning to get better. God bless her and her efforts! Respect!

    also,if ppl in the US respect other religions&genders,this will help a lot! Next time you see a women who is wearing a hijab remember that below that is a strong modest women showing what she believes!show respect so they can earn equality!! xoxox
