Since the late 1980s, if I'm not mistaken. And neither Kiki nor I were trying to be rude; it's just that expressions such as Def, Hype, Dope, Fly, Slammin', Jammin' etc. just don't sound right when coming from caucasians. But that's my humble opinion.
