Who knew shoes could mean so much…
As I’m sure you are well aware, this holiday season has me feeling like giving to others is one of the best things I can do. TOMS shoes is trying to give away 30,000 shoes in 30 days to people in need in Ethiopia. This video explains why. If you like TOMS, now is the time to get a pair, or two or three!

OK Lauren, I gotcha, I don’t have anything against people criticizing my comments or me cause its a blog and everyone is free to express it. But I like the name. I like in NYC and I’m not much of a sneaker person I love shoes and I love stiletto heels even though they are a bitch to walk in over cobble stones. I can run a marathon in them. I live in Harlem a nice area in Harlem in NYC I love it here. It has so much culture and diversity and I appreciate that. The vixen part is for the flyy fashion diva in me so I mixed it together. I have a real name of course but don’t choose to put it on here.
SV,
Er, no?
WILD traffic on this board though. I hang out to watch the fireworks.
All I’m saying is your approach is a tad…exhausting.
great video!
I learned something today. thanks for bringing this to our attention
I dont need another pair of shoes, when I buy is it going to them? because thats what I would rather do.
It really makes you appreciate what you have. Here in America, shoes are a fashion statement over there it can save lives!
thanks again for this awareness Kim! I will do my part
Stiletto Vixen – Hey there, well what i did was go to india because i have family there, i take the “hands on” approach instead of signing a check because i like to know exactly where my money is going and to make sure the people who need to be helped get it and that the money is not eaten up by greedy/corrupt businessmen. I didn’t work with any organization. There are many poor people literally living on the streets there and for less than 50 bucks you can buy shoes for 40 to 50 people. We bought school books for the poor school kids and shoes for them too because they were going to school barefoot. Me and my sister also paid to have a new school room made because the school kids were outside in the hot sun, around 120 degrees in the summer because of over-crowding, and for less than 1500 bucks we were able to get them a new school room made. It just proves you don’t have to be rich to help others ! I would love to give you the name of an organization, but i didn’t work with one, sorry. If i ever find one that is reputable, i will let you know. I would love to help poor people in other countries too at some point. I’m young and know that i can do alot, just wish the rest of this generation felt the same ! But thanks for being kind like that, and don’t listen to the folks here, i enjoy your comments alot. I shrug off alot of stuff but racism is something i think everyone should stand up for.
Stiletto Vixen says:
Hmmmm I’m glad that you give money toward Indian organizations. You helped bring attention to that and I’d like to participate. I can’t imagine what trauma they are going through right now. It’s already one of the poorest countries in the world. I’m sure they can use all the help they can get. If you don’t mind posting a few reputable organizations that I may donate to I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks
OH OK hmmmm thank you that sounds really nice. I hear India is beautiful but just so much poverty it must be really rewarding to be able to actually help individuals that you know you are helping, and yes you are then definitely sure where your money is going. That is a great thing that you do. I do that here in NYC whatever extra clothes I have I bring them to this yard where a lot of homeless people frequent instead of having the salvation army come and pick it up because I feel like the staff rifles through the good stuff first and takes the stuff out then gives the remainder, and I feel that they should be able to rock nice clothing too. Great thing you did again and thanks for responding.
