Old School Pic: My Nana

This old school pic is of me and my grandmother. We always called her “Nana.” She is my Dad’s mother and her real name is Helen Kardashian.

She passed away earlier this year…

Once my father passed away, she was never the same. She had three children, my aunt Barbara, my uncle Tommy then the baby of the bunch… my dad!

My grandmother is full Armenian. It’s actually very typical to have blond hair and light eyes being full Armenian. This is where Khloe gets her coloring from, in case you have been wondering.

Nana was seriously so much fun! She lived right near my parents growing up and also had a house in Palm Springs that we always spent so much time at.

She was your typical Armenian grandmother: always cooking the best Armenian meals, our favorite which was this Armenian breakfast called “beeshe”! I’m not sure if that’s even how you spell it but it’s basically a fried pancake with lots of sugar on top!

She passed along the recipe but Kourtney is the only one in our entire Kardashian family who has mastered it. So every year in December my dad’s side of the family gets together and Kourtney makes it for us all!

I miss my Nana so much!

    Hey kim now I see where khloe gets her blonde hair from. Sorry for your lost she seemed like a real sweet lady. My grandmother died on my birthday n I actually found her and that was so horrible. But to look at a brighter side she was 87 and had live a good life and she is an guardian 4 our family. Just like your grandmother and also your dad and that the reason your family is so bless.     Your Nana and your Dad are both in a better place watching over you guys!=)I can imagine how much you miss them..

    Unfortunaltly i never got to know my grandparents…ive met my grandparents on my mothers side, they visited us once when i was 6 and then 11 and now last fall my grandmother was here for the third time. On my father`s side ive only met my grandmother once when i was 5… my grandfather (father`s side) passed away before i was born.

    You are lucky to have known your grandparents, and that you have had them by your side growing up, i dont have so many memories from them… its sad, but unfortunatly thats the wat it was for me and my sisters and brother since we lived here (in Norway) and they lived in Iran.. It was especially hard not having grandparents around when i was younger.. but i learned to deal with it.

    Im glad you had your grandmother around,and even if she is not around anymore you have all the nice memories to think of whenever you miss her=)

    Wow, your dad looked just like her. This does explain alot about where Khloe gets her coloring. Hopefully people can stop questioning it now lol.

    Hi Kim!

    Again this is another great family photo to look at with fond memories, I’m sure! I don’t have any words for the loss of your grandmother but from your own description she must have been a wonderful lady!
