Years ago he gave me this book called "Embraced by the Light." It's a story about a woman who passed away during a surgery gone wrong and she ended up coming back to life! She remembers her entire journey to heaven and her encounter with God! I wasn't ready to read this book when my father gave it to me! He promised it was very short and I would read it in a few days! I still didn't believe him and put it on my shelf for years! When my father passed away I came across the book and kind of as a favor for him I decided to read it! This book changed my life!
Hearing the story about a woman who passed away and descriptively explained what heaven was like, I feel I understood where my dad was! Her amazing journey gave me comfort and peace and if any of you have lost a loved one, I really recommend it! I can't stress any more how special this book is to me! I'd love to hear what you guys think of it if you have already read it!

Hi Kim,
I haven't read this book, but I am so touched by how you want to be re-united with your dad. When I was little, my parents tought me that when we die, we are re-united with our loved ones. It sounds like your father was a wonderful dad and family man. You really shine with that.
God Bless you,
Steffanie

Slow day of blogging Kim! What's going on? The topics today are so boring. However keeping on subject, I love to read, it is my favorite pastime. It's so relaxing for me to sit by the lake and read a good book.
Can you do a post on your favorite holiday dishes and recipes? That would be a little more interesting than what you have going on today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A few years ago my aunt past away, and she meant soo much to me... It's still so hard to deal with the fact she isn't here. It's crazy how so many things change and how your own life changes when someone so close to you isn't in your life anymore. Thanks for recommending this book Kim. I really think I am going to read it!
Love ya!

Kim , I think I remember having this book. Isn't this the book where she said she saw animals ascending to heaven? Maybe I'm wrong but it came across as new age hoopla. The bible specifically says that animals do not go to heaven, they simply return to the dust. I thought it was a Christian book to when I first picked it up. A good Christian book that is out right now is "The Shack". It's alittle boring at first, but it get's better as it goes on.

My family went through some really hard times, we had lost about five very close family members in a length of four years. It was a tough time for everyone and we were all very hurt. This book entered my Aunts life, suggested by a friend. She read it and was very touched and then passed it on to everyone else. One by one each family member read the book and passed it on. It touched every one of our lives. This is truly an amazing book. I would encourage everyone to read it. It was really cool to see this post.
God bless.

Hey kim, not only do people tell me i look so much like you but you seem to like the same things i do from makeup to books. I just read Embraced By The Light this year and it changed my life as well. I can't tell you how many people I've recommeded it to. I also recommend The Awakenning Heart by Betty J. Eadie. It's a continuation of Embraced By The Light and you'll enjoy it even more. I lost my dad 10 years ago as well and these books sure did give me comfort. You rock beautiful:)

I can't wait to read this book!
I read a book years ago that was similar. It changed my life as well. I am so much more accepting of death than I had been.
Since reading that book, my tears shed during funerals were because of the pain I knew my family members were feeling, not because of the death of my loved ones. I'm afraid I may come across as uncaring since I cry very little.
That's just how comfortable that book made me with death. It's a very good thing.
Again, I can't wait to read this one. Thanks for posting. :-)

Here is the best book in the whole wide world. The answers to all your life's problems and questions. It's the real thing, no lies. It's the one and only
BIBLE. That's right, no other book out there like, no book can substitute it.
Representin who?? Well you know, JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD WHO CAME DIED FOR OUR SINS SO THAT WE WOULD NOT BURN IN HELL IN ETERNITY.
That's right, go out get it for urself and experience GOD.
PEACE OUT. GOD BLESS AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT JESUS.
