Let’s recognize what really happened
As many of you know, this is an issue near and dear to my heart…
I firmly believe the U.S. should officially recognize the horrific and historical atrocity of the Armenian Genocide, also known as the “Great Calamity.”
For those of you who don’t know about it: More than a million Armenian people were marched to their death during World War I and beyond. I know, the number is so staggering, I cannot even fathom it.
Right now MSNBC has posted a poll on the matter and I cannot believe how many people have voted “no.” I’m left to wonder if people are really aware of the gravity of the situation.
I voted “yes” and would appreciate it if you felt it in your heard to vote “yes” too.

It is widely acknowledged to have been one of the first modern, systematic genocides
Massacres were indiscriminate of age or gender, with rape and other sexual abuse commonplace
The Republic of Turkey does not accept the word genocide as an accurate description of the events. In recent years, it has faced repeated calls to accept the events as genocide.
To date, twenty-one countries have officially recognized the events of the period as genocide, and most scholars and historians accept this view
hey kim… i come to your page every day and check out all of your posts..i am armenian myself and i think it is great that you are using your celebrity to bring attention to such a serious matter…i have learned a lot about the armenian genocide and have family members who were majorly affected by it so i will also be voting YES.. you’re a great role model no matter what anyone says… keep doing what you do, youre amazing
:)
Hey Kiki
I have many Armenian friends here in Australia and I have just forwarded the link to them as well. The percentage for YES shall def get higher.
It’s a shame that some ppl have no regard for others.
Thank you so much for informing us on such an important issue.
I of course said “YES” too.
Thanks Kim
Lilyanna
I will put YES as well. <3
History repeats itself… not specifically but it does. Its good to know and recognize what has been. So that nothing like it ever happens again.
Hey Kim, this is such an important and serious issue and I’m glad you brought it up here. I’m Armenian too and, although I was born and raised in America, I’ve made it a point to become educated about the genocide. I can’t even put my mind around the amount of hatred involved behind this massacre, and now the denial. I definitely think it’s important for others to be aware and educated, and the US most definitely should recognize this as a genocide. It’s great for you to be using your celebrity to raise awareness about such issues. Peace & love, xoxo
hey Kim. I am glad you are very supportive and feel so strongly about something so important in your background, being that you are Armenian. I followed the link and looked at the poll. I had to vote “I’m Not Sure” because, before reading your post, I had no idea about this issue. I am glad you spoke about it and shed some light on it. I will definitely look into it now. Just like when I learned in high school about how the Japanese were treated by the US during WWII (I think that was the war??) Anyway, I think a possible reason why so many people are voting “NO” is because of this statement:
“…Besides, Turkey is too important an ally to alienate when the U.S. has troops in the Middle East.”
Anything having to do with the war is a sensitive subject and by MSNBC using that phrase, people are more likely to say NO because the first thing we think is….”Turkey is going to turn on us and our troops will be in even more danger!” And it’s not a very valid reason for someone to choose that answer just because of the current war. So after the war..then maybe it will be okay to say “Yes, it was a genocide.”??? Makes no sense.
Well…i gotta go do some research now!
It’s not that people don’t care…it’s that some people are looking towards the furture of this country…the state it’s at and where the state can potentially be…i try to educate myself on both sides..and I do see why people would vote no and why some would yes…for the people who vote no..it’s not an emotional thing.it’s not that they don’t like armenian people..it just for them it’s a logical choice not an emotional one…just thought i might add my two cents ;-)
Hey i saw some pics of you in miami.. with a graphite bikini and gold hoops.. would you let us know what earrings and bikini your wearing?
thanks!
Kim, please you are so fake you have no idea about being a Armenian you have come to live the life of the rich and well just because you are mixed with Armenian you have no clue about the Armenian Genocide you and your family are using your dead dads name to make your self look rich and famous witch I feel is truly a discrace to any and every body stop pretending to understand about the culture you and your family need to stop making money off of a dead man and be REAL I have watched your show and if your dad was alive I am pretty sure the show would not exist so stop with the BS.
