Remember back in the day when I wore my Obama shirt? Yes, it is true: I was a supporter from the start! I have to say, I am beyond thrilled that Barack Obama was elected and I am looking forward to witnessing all of the historic change that his Presidency promises!

The election wasn’t all thrills for me, however. I have been holding my breath today, hoping that California’s Prop 8 (which bans gay marriage) would not pass. But, unfortunately it has. I hear it is being challenged in the courts by civil rights groups and I’m hopeful our legal system will find Prop 8 unjust.

How are you feeling about the election?

What an exciting night last night was. It was absolutely worth the late night, the tears and heart ache of waiting in line for 5 hours. I was so EXCITED to be apart of thos defining moment in history. America was desperate for CHANGE and finally CHANGE has come. No one should feel that they can not achieve what they want to. With this change in American History, we can be whatever we want to be and don’t think less of ourselves. This has opened up doors for younger people to get involved in politics, for your people to stay in school or go back to school. I am HAPPY that I was able to experience this, something I will cherish the rest of my life.

    As for prop 8

I have to be honest and say that marriage is defined in the bible between a man and a woman. I don’t agree with gay marriage however I am never discriminatory against the lifestyle. I have a brother who is openly gay however I can’t disown him for his choosing of a lifestyle.

latina princess, I liked how you kept it classy (about your comment at 6:11pm) I am an Obama supported, but I liked what you said. I wish more republicans were like you! However I have to say that as a Latina I was disappointed when Daddy Yankee decided to support McCain. I guess when I think of republicans I think of rich ppl, and I feel that him as a Latino, he let me down on that. He is from the streets and I thought he would support a democrat (because they usually care more about the poor and middle class people). Anyhow I guess I wonder if you are wealthy? or is it just a stereotype that Republicans are wealthy????

Anyhow Kim I’m glad you posted something about the Election. I was getting disappointed earlier.
