I saw this yesterday on here...I think it is such a beautiful idea. I usually don't like tattoos, but I think this is really special, I've never even thought you could do that! It's gorgeous. But Godbless your dad, i bet he is so proud of you all!! I think it's totally upto you to get a tattoo, i think if you do want one I would get it somewhere you can't see it very much. I love your brothers tattoo too, I think that is so creative! My mom recently got diagnosed for cancer and they said they couldn't cure her, so at the moment it's been such a hard time for us and I told her about your sisters tattoo last night and she said it was so beautiful, but i'm like you...i don't know whether i should get a tattoo like at the back of my neck or just honor my mom in my own way like you said? Anyway, i love kourtneys tattoo...! X

Hi Kim. I love love love you and ur sisters. I recently got 2 tattoos, one on my ankle and one on my wrist like Khloe. I think that getting them is something to really think about because they will stay with you. And to get one that has meaning behind it is even more special. Its not like a random tattoo of Mickey Mouse or anything. I think its a great idea of getting it in your dad's handwriting and you can always get it in a descreit place on your body so no one will see it. luv u and ur sisters!

Hey if you don't like tattoos you shouldn't get one. It wouldn't mean as much. I have gotten one so far one with my husband's name (going ten years strong) and going to get one with my children's names on it. I lost my dad when I was 19(ten years ago if you believe it)and I've debated getting a tattoo for him. my dad never believed in tattoos so I'm feeling funny about doing it. But then only you can make yourself happy Kim, and if you decide for the tattoo great if not it's still great. Make yourself happy first!

I just realized the anniversary of his death was 15 years ago today! Wierd!! this is even more of a sign an inspiration for me to do this! I am so excited and i cant wait to get this done! Thank you for posting this! :D

My father passed away the day before I started Kindergarten. It has been 15 years now. I have not gotten a tattoo either..and I have always wanted to get one honoring him. And I have always wanted one of his handwriting. Seeing this is like a sign! I think that it would be amazing. I only have one letter that he wrote to me when he was in the hospital. It is truly one of my most valuable posessions. I am inspired to get this tattoo! I want to find a good artist that can really capture the handwriting originally. But im so happy to see this..and if you want to do this you should! Its very meaningful, and if I get something to honor him. This would be it!

I think you should stay tattoo free. I have my sisters names tattooed on my wrist the (same place as Kloe) and I wish I was tattoo free. Dont get me wrong, I love my sisters and got them right before going to iraq, but I wish I had remained without any tatooes. So I vote 'NO' for the tattoo.

I believe that if its truly in your heart to do something extrodinary, than do it. We only have on life to live. Sometimes we would like to display our affection and love for others to the world. Maybe share an experience. Tattoo's tell about a chapter in our lives. They dont change the person that you are. I had gotten my first tattoo a year 1/2 ago on my 26th birthday. Ironically the same area where Khloe got hers. It hold a special place to my heart. The constant reminder of someone I love will always be there. There love shines through always no matter where I go... There protection and pride is always there. Giving me the confidence..as if they were here.
It's truly up to you. Make the decision that will make the happiest.

you are so beautiful you dont want to scar your body with tattoos! when my mom died i got her name on my right arm and i regret it. i have my right arm done and my chest. i regret it because people look at my tattoos and think i am trashy and uneducated. but the reality is that im not. and its sad.

well kim, i support you in whatever it is that you wanna do, but if u did get the tat i think that for you there will be no second guessing the reason why of course to honor your father, but a tattoo is something you will have for the rest of your life. if your not a real big tattoo fan you can always put it somewhere very discreet and it doesnt have to be big, something samll. ultimatly it is your choice and its up to you, but if thats the way you wanna honor father then i say go right ahead, nothing is more important then family and the memory of your dad. i think getting the tattoo is a great idea. i'm 25 yrs old & i don't have any yet. if it's going to be on you forever it should be meaningful. its a great way to honor your father. you'll love him forever & that's a love that will never go away.

My father has also passed away, and I know the feeling of wanting to do something permanent and so personal in his honor, but I think you should continue to do it in the way that you always have. Whatever decision you make will be in his honor anyway, but stick to what you want! I'm tattoo free as well, and I think I'd be too scared to get one done! I'm not really a fan of marring up your body permanently for fashion's sake, but I lost my mother to cancer 3 years ago today and I think this is a GREAT tattoo idea. When I read Khloe's blog about it, I thought "I wish I had thought of that!" I may just steal this idea because I keep a note my mom wrote me on my fridge. How wonderful to keep her writing on my body. You never EVER stop missing them. Never. Still, their blood flows through our veins, Kim and our existence is the highest tribute to theirs - make it a good one and represent with class and honor.

I think its an excellent idea....the tattoo should be for you tho and no one else. I got a tattoo of my name in Arabic on my wrist after I overcame struggles in my life. And its always a nice reminder when I feeling down, makes me realize everything I have gone thru. And the great thing about it being on your wrist is you can hid it with a watch or some bangles. No harm no foul!

Kim I totally think the tattoo idea is cool but it's so not for you. Khole is a different person and I can see her with tats. But you on the other hand are very fashionable and classy and I just dont see you with tattoos.

I think it is very touching and personal. I think that all three of you should have this tattoo, because it makes the bond between sisters strong and you will always have your dad with you no matter what. I love it and the idea is great.

i have two tatoos and i'm having one removed on my ankle because it does not look good when i wear a dress. i like the other one because it's on my lower back and can't always been seen. i think that you should sit on the idea for a month or so and if you still want it, go for it. i think that it's really sweet what your sister did especially since it is meaningful.

Kim...my Dad passed away on May 22, 2007...he was my best friend. I have a tatoo of his initials "RJZ", and it is his original handwritting. I love it! Just get in in a place that can be covered, mine is behind my neck.

Yea like putting the signature on a large frame. You also have to think if it is something your dad would want you to do. Especially being his princess and all. I think this is definitely a personal choice that only YOU can make.

If you've never been a fan of tatoos, then do something else. There are other ways you can honor your dad if this isn't your cup of tea.

Like someone said up above "You could get the handwriting engraved on jewelery or get a pendant of the same thing and wear it on a chain around your neck!! :) :) " that would be perfect! a silver chain with a pendant.. or a locket with his picture inside. its cool that your sister khloe got the tatt of ya fathers hand writing. thats was a good idea but as far as you go kim honestly i believe that you should honor you fathers legacy and doing it your way "kim style".your pretty as it is now and i dont think putting a tatt on yourself will not do you any harm.its just an expression of how you feel and if you decide to put something like your sister did about ya father then so be it but just not exactly what she got something diferent then "i love you"....a remeberance of what he said to every day when you woke up... a sayng he consently told you day on and day off...thats an idea coming in my head...i dont know it up to you...

I think Khloe's tattoo is very creative and a wonderful tribute to your dad. I was so anti-tattoo for myself but I got a couple and I love them. No regrets. If it's something you want to do, go for it. But pick carefully what you want and where you want it.

Getting a tat was Khole's way of honoring her dad... Khole is more hard core and outgoing not to say you arent but you guys have very different personalities. A tat fits Khole's personality. However, I do not think it fits yours. It is obvious that you would like to honor your father just like Khole did... but do it Kim's way. I like some of the ideas here...the fingerprint, the necklace etc. It more like you... and if you REALLY want to honor your father... do it everday with everything that you do...

I wouldn't do the same thing, think of something that is all your own. That is her way of remembering him and now its your turn. I know that you are very creative and can think of something your own. I don't have any tats and I think it rocks that you don't have any either.

Honestly, I think it would be better not to get the tattoo. You are beautiful without it and don't need a tattoo to commemorate your father. You should do it in your own way, which is obviously the way you appreciate your background.

Remember, tattoos fade and no matter how much you can go back to get a tattoo filled, you will eventually get tired of doing so.

If you do decide on getting the tattoo, get it in white ink.

I really do find tattoos unattractive, but of course, it is your body.

It might look cool now, but it wont be when ur 55, finished having your kids, and probably have grandchildren on the way. Honor your dad in another way. get an oil painting and put it up in your house or make a scolarship underhis name for kids who are in school wanting to be a lawyer.

First time here on your site and I had to leave a comment on this topic.

My dad also passed away when I was in H.S. I am now in my thirties and at one point also considered getting a tattoo in honor of my dad. I'm very happy that I did not do that because I've realized that getting tattoos, jewelry, or any other type of keepsake for an individual isn't really necessary. The best thing you can do is have your memories with that special someone.

Besides, when you are old and grey and knodding by that fire (good 'ol Yeats) all you have to do is just close your eyes and think of them and they won't sag. ;oP

Also, what goes great with those memories is looking at some old photos. That always seems to brighten up those sometimes sad days.

Hello Kim - I have to admit, I ended up here because I was complaining to a friend of mine about you and was looking for a picture. Nothing personal! You seem perfectly nice. I was complaining because - see, my father is Palestinian (my mom's American)and we are the same age, and we actually look very much alike, (except I'm 5'9''). Once there was a picture of you on my screen and my mom walked by and said, "oh, that's a good picture of you." I shrieked! (Do people tell you you look like princess Jasmine? I bet they do. I get it all the time also. And sometimes Cher.) It exasperates me only because of course I also wish you and I had say, a Bentley in common as well, ya' know! ANYWAY, this is the first time I have written a single word intended for any kind of "celebrity," and it's doubtful you will even see it, but you asked for opinions, and I FORBID you to get a tattoo! That was a very creative idea of your sister's, and yes it's sweet, but I'm sorry, tattoos are just tacky. Imagine Princess Diana or Jackie O (or an Armenian princess!) with a big ugly tattoo. No no no. (My father is dead too.) There is a company called Thumbies that will take the fingerprint of a loved one and actually imprint it on a piece of jewellery, like a pendant. My best friend died last year and I got a signet ring with her thumbprint. Just a suggestion, but you are NOT allowed to get a tattoo. I can't have my twin having that! :) Good luck on Dancing... I'm actually a ballroom dancer myself, so if you twist an ankle I could be your stand-in, and hope nobody notices that you just grew about a foot. NO TATTOOS. It's just not you. There, that's my celebrity comment-board advice! Holla' chica!

I went through the same thing! I've been wanting a tattoo for about 3 years and I wanted something that really meant something to me. And in your case it would be very cute and honorable for your dad. I finally decided to get mine 2 weeks ago and I don't regret it at all! I got "vida" on the back of my neck which means "life" in spanish and portuguese, the two other languages I speak. I think you should defitnetly consider it because it won't be something you will regret later on. I hope you decide whatever your heart tells you. Continue being an idol! When I saw this post, it made me tear up. My own father battled pancreatic cancer 2 years ago and beat it. But it took a huge toll on me, so much so that it questioned my faith - which is something that has never happened before. Because of that, I got a tatoo of a cross. Its very simple and very discreet. But it helps to remind me of the power of faith.
I think the tattoo Khloe got is a very beautiful way to honor your father. It's a very personal (and permanent) thing! Definitely think long and hard about it!

I got a tattoo when my best friend passed in April, 2008. It is the most personal thing I've ever done and still love it to this day. I think if you get a tattoo you really need to think about it for a while. You need to consider where you want it and what you want. I don't think you should get the same thing as Khloe. You need to get something that resembles what you and your Dad shared. However, I do agree with a lot of others comments that it's not so much your personality but it wasn't mine either and now I have one and it's the best thing I ever did so you really have to feel it in your heart and make sure it fits you.

My mother passed in 06 and i got an angel tatted on my foot in her honor it makes me feel like she is always walking with me. if its something small that you dont mind having when you 80 then go for it!!

Hey kim! i think getting a Tat would be cool but im so sure that your father will be even more proud of you because you are tat free. I'm pretty sure that because of him being Armenian he's more into the classy look and thats exactly what you have. The best way to go is just honor your father by being yourself and you dont need to add anyhting else on your body to make him proud. He will always be honored by the way you act because he'll know that he's done a great job by raising 4 amazing children.

Kim, I think you should get a tat! If it's something you really love, believe me you will not regret it. You could do it anywhere, and keep it discrete, where only close peeps will see it. I think it is a beautiful idea but I also believe there are other ways to both remember and honor your father. Especially since you are in the modeling industry and constantly getting photographed, it would be wiser to honor your father's life in a way you wouldn't have to hide or cover up at certain times.

whatever u do, just make sure u think long and hard about it. Try to vision urself at like age 60 and ask urself, "Am i still going to like that tattoo at that age? Is it going to look good?" NEVER get a tattoo at a "spur of the momment" I did that twice and kind of regret them both. I like them right now but i might consider getting rid of them when I'm in my 40's or 50's

Khloe's tat is def. hot and she had a lot of thought into it. You should find something that will inspire you every day of your life, because it is PERMANENT (there is laser, but hey, I'm just saying!). If you want to get something to honor your dad, I would get "Daddy" in his handwriting. It's totally up to you, and what you called him, or what he signed letters with. Everyone will know that its a tattoo about your dad, it just makes it more personal being his handwriting. You might be jocking on Khloe's idea, but its just a thought.. and yall are sisters! So it really doesnt matter.. it'll be another connection between you two.

Since this is your first tat, I would say, go for it. I know how much your father meant to all of you, and at least your first tat would be meaningful. Just don't get some lousy off-the-tattoo-parlor-wall tattoo! You kind of want it to be original.. and I think you should really give it some thought.

You honor him everyday by remembering who he was and how much he made you happy. If you really, absolutely, positively want a tattoo in memory of him, then go for it. But if you're hesitant about it, then that means you don't really want it, you just think you do.

I personally love tattoos-- the only thing is, make sure it's something that's really personal to you. Going to a tattoo parlor and picking out some random tat on the wall is making for some major regret when you're older. I have one tattoo, which I drew myself, that I absolutely adore. I also chose to have it somewhere that is not easily seen unless I wear skin-baring clothes, which makes me feel more comfortable about being able to cover it up in a professional environment. So as long as it's done in a classy way, I say go for it.

It's a super cute idea of your sister but I recommend to stay tat-free! By the time you're in your 60's and 70's you will be glad about that decision. Plus it's becoming rare and unique to be tat-free and I think in the end it's more classy!
