You should definetly go to Dubai. I live in Indianapolis but I'm going back this December (I was born and raised in Abu Dhabi which is the capital city). Best time to go is December through February, summer time tends to be too hot and humid. Def. check out " Burj al Arab".

I've lived in Dubai for almost 12 years and its an absolutely amazing. The hotels are gorgeous, i would suggest a beach resort cause they are the best here and even a weekend away at a desert resort. Your entire family would enjoy it! For your sisters and yourself the shopping here is intense and you can find everything you'll ever want under one roof! There's so much to see and do both at day and night so its a place you should visit for sure.

I heard about Dubai also..I am a member of the U.S Army Reserves and im about to deploy to Kuwait(which i hear is better than people think) and everyone tells me to visit Dubai if i can while im over there! If i go i'll send you a post with pics!

I've actually lived in Dubai my entire life. It's amazing, especially in the winter. I'm sure if you come here you'll love it, it's the epitome of glamour, from its hotels,shopping,beaches, nightlife etc. The people are really nice as well, its a mutlicultural environment,there are actually more expats than emiratis(locals) which make up the total population. One thing to keep in mind is to be modest (in dressing), its just out of respect, but there isn't any rules set out.

dubai is beauuutiful! My fam & I actually went during the summer a few years back, def a great place if your a gold lover, they have a HUGE gold market, MALLS EVERYWHERE if your a shop fanatic. Dubai is surrounded by water, so i recommend going the spring, during summer its just WAY to hot and humid, when you step outside you feel super sticky and gross! Everyones friendly and its overall beautiful. They have all the high-end labels, all the women over there wear gucci, D&G, versace..it still is a very religious country (UAE) so you'll see a LOT of covered up women, but it's also laid back, I saw a lot of tourists but felt at home because i'm afghan! I recommend this place to ANYONE who loves to have fun and relax a little, they also have beautiful beaches! Research it and you'll be amazed! xoxo!

it's a fan writing to you all the way from Lebanon. I'm writing this to tell you that if you want to visit Dubai, why not visit Lebanon? I mean u do want to have the best night life, well you aren't going to have that in Dubai. Lebanon is famous for its night life and social life and especialy its touristic sightings. My advice to you is the following: please take into considiration researching about Lebanon because you won't be dissapointed I assure you. And you will find the kind of vacation that your looking for. I mean if your fascinated bu the ski slops inside a mall, we have natural slops and if your facinated by the beach we have a million of those all with resorts. So anyways just research Lebanon and you wont be disappointed.

I just wanted to say that the media in the US plays a very negative role in potraying Middle Eastern countries. There are so many beautiful places in the gulf, I've spotted Kate Moss in Oman once at a resort Spa...Dubai is known as "Vegas of the Gulf" its crazy there...everything is "larger than life"...i used to live there for three years and enjoyed it, its a very exotic place to visit. Its a must on your list, you should go there before the month of May, June and July and August is when the humid starts...but its goregous....I've been to LA a couple of times, i enjoyed it but if you want serious damage visit Dubai..and btw its very very safe...one of the biggest american bases is in Dubai, so poltical its very safe to go there=) if thats what ur fearing...and u will blend in as well...u have an " arabian flavor" in you...

You have a way with style where everything is on point and appropriate for each and every event and outing you attend.

I live in Dubai and it is awsome!!! i've lived here all my life and there is soooooo much to do! the indoor skislope is pretty cool and their building another one which is going to be in the biggest theme park in the world! If you do come do NOT ever come in summer cuz its sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot! November is probably the best time to come cuz thats when its not to hot and not to cold The only bad thing about dubai though is that everywhere u go there are building sites 3/4 of the worlds cranes are in dubai!!!

I have been to Dubai in 2004! Its amazing.... I saw the Palms and the World being built. My dad was going to buy land on the Palm but it was already sold out! This was four years ago, so I know its gonna be so popular when its finished. Its so crazy that everyone is talking about Dubai now! When I went and came back I would tell people about it and they would say what the hell is the UAE??? Where is Dubai?? ISLANDS CITIES BEING BUILT IN THE OCEAN?? Ha! Yeah, Dubai is awesome but it is because of all our hard-earned money we pay at the gas station. I would love to see us be self-sufficient and they would have nothing there. I know this is not easy. Dubai is the only place in the middle-east where people have freedom to do anything they want. So it is a hot spot for "many" people. I also read that there is a lot of abuse (like poor women from all around the world are brought in and made prostitutes there) for rich people's pleasure. There is a lot of facts that are alarming if you look beyond the glitz and glamour part of it.

Mall of the Emirates was amazing i love to shop and Lady it took me two days to finish shopping in that mall. But the most amazing mall was the Mercato Mall off of jumeirah Beach Road. The nightlife was okay not the greatest but the only best on was the Club under the ocean!
But another hint i just came back From Turks & Caicos!!!!! Thats the hot spot to hit! the Beaches are nothing you will ever see!

Dubai is nice but if you are looking for amazing beaches, beach parties, the best nightlife be sure to go to Lebanon. That is the place to be, dubai is a little more reserved than Beirut, but Beirut is very much more westernized with way more culture and history.

If you are going to come over to Dubai... make sure its not in the summer months. It is around 120 degrees over here right now. The humidity is constant. I am really looking foward to the winter months. Its starts getting nice around November. I am living on the Palm Jumeirah now... and its truly fabulous. One of the most exclusive places to be. I went to Dubai in April, and it is so great there! It is so hot and luxory is everywhere. I went shopping in the Mall of the Emerites and the indoor ski slop is so cool, and they even have some rides upstairs! I went on a sand dune ride and that was so much fun! Dubai is really good!

Kim you need more makeup. You don't look pretty here... and I'm a huge fan who thinks you're gorgeous. You look very blah. I agree with the other poster... stop listening to people telling you to wear less makeup. Wear what works for you, and I think heavy makeup and smokey eyes makes you looks GORGEOUS. Dubai is definitely the playground for the rich and famous and i love my country soooo much!!! You can dress up any time just hitting the street and you never feel over dressed. You should definitely visit. The hotels are spectactular!!! it is an extremely rich country and showing off is what we do best!!! You would know what a mean just driving by the street where every other car is a ferrari, Lambo,bently etc...;)

Sorry, I have never been to Dubai. However, I know folks who have. I also have an uncle (well he's like an uncle) who has a place in Dubai. He invites us all the time but we just never have the time to go. We will go one day. All I know is that Dubai is BEAUTIFUL. I know you will love it and have a blast down there. They have HUGE malls and beautiful scenerys. My cousin also went there for her honeymoon and she took tons of pics.

If you do decide to go (I think u should), go during the winter season. So it's not that hot.

Hey Kim....u will absolutely LOVE Dubai...they have sooooo many malls. The best one for haute couture is BurJuman and you should definitely stay at the Buj Al Arab...i believe its a 7 star hotel. The night life is really good too. Also, if youre in the area...u should definitely go to beirut and cyprus also.

Yes I have, here's my advice stay at the burj al Arab I stayed there with my family and that hotel is really other worldly-so beautiful.

The adriatic sea is so nice and warm, you I literally lived on the beach during the late afternoon- the water is just SO blue and it's beautiful.

The shopping is great, the malls are huge and it's tax free-which is great.

I think go there and experience the marvels of design, the architecture, engineering etc I mean a ski slope in the desert is no joke.

Also make sure you head to the Gold soek (can' really spell that) you'll find great middle eastern jewelery.

My friend lives there and she's enamered with everything-even says the night life is good. Just don't go there on a budget cuz it's just not worth it otherwise.

I know that there are problems with a lot of Western (particularly) British tourists who tend to act out and not properly respect and appreciate the customs of a different culture - but other than that, it seems like such a serene and beautiful place.

believe it or not Dubai is a fabulous and EXTRA luxorious place to live in. it is one of the most expensive countries in the middle east. you should really try coming over here and maybe i can give u a tour hehe.
dont worry about it being a far away country. Dubai is extra safe since alot of high profiles happen to live here.
oh and in case you didnt know, dubai is currently building the HIGHEST building in the WORLD!! itll be done by next year!

I have been to Dubai, it's AMAZING. It should be ranked as one of the wonders of the world. There's old Dubai and New Dubai. New Dubai looks like something out of a Sci-Fi/Futuristic movie! Technology and architectural detail at its best. And the shopping............You would die!!! Plus they have all the designer store at REASONABLE prices. As somoenone mentioned in an earlier post, yes there are issues of sex slavery/Human Trafficking, not only in Dubai, but in the entire country of United Arab Emirates, I'm sure you know Dubai is only a city. But it is not as prevalent as other countries, and the UAE government has dished out $15million to the United Nations Global Initiative to fight Human trafficking (UNGIFT) to to help combat the crime. I am international human rights lawyer, so I do this work on a daily basis. My being here also proves an earlier point made by many........You DO have fans across the spectrum. Glad you are expanding your horizon.

You have to go to Dubai, it's the ultimate place for everything you need, shopping... is Unbelieveable , the beaches are soooooo clean and beautiful, the hotels are wonders of the world.
and plus all of the famous and richest people in world own a house either in the palm or in the world project.... you've got to go you will lovvvvvve it.... Am from Kuwait and we go there like every month.

One other thing... If you are not going to be taking a private jet out to Dubai. The best airline to fly is Emirates, First Class of course. They far surpass any other airline I have ever been on. Just wanted to let you know that I am currently living in Dubai!! I moved from Florida about 3 months ago and it is FABULOUS out here!! The shopping is unreal!! And yes in the Mall of the Emirates there is a ski slope. The best place to have lunch is Apres which sits at the bottom of the slope. I was a little leary of coming out here myself.. seeing that it was 8,000 miles away. But I can assure you that it's worth the trip. I would love to see you out here! Take care- Jaime White

And its also safe there even if you leave your expensive bag or purse or anything in a certain place NO ONE WOULD DARE get it. Its very different there, they're so strict. That's why they don't have crimes.
