Hi Kim!

My husband and I and a couple of my cousins actually have walked a trail up to the Hollywood Sign!! You can't get to the actual letters but there is a trail you follow behind and up the mountain and you get to the very top and there is a fence that blocks you from getting to the letters..but you are literally behind it and you can see the view of all of Los Angeles! It's amazing! You guys should try it...I actually have pictures if you want to see them let me know!

ive been to the sign before! Its pretty big! Theres this special path you get to drive through and it leads you straight to the sign.

When I lived in San Diego, I'd go up to LA hoping I saw the sign. I did after some navigation. It was nice, but not great.

I am not a fan of L.A. But it's nice to know that you are and can appreciate its simple assets.

You can actually drive up the mountain though and see them really really close. i guess its only illegal within a certain amount of feet of the letters. Because i have driven up the mountain.

i think one of my best friends told me that her ex took her to the hollywood sign or really close to it for their first date...i forgot the details though...but i bet that was a breath taking experience, to see something that big and iconic. Nice pic :)

I know what you mean. I live in the best city in the world (NY) and I only go see certain sites when my out of town family visits. I'm ashamed to say I've never been to the Statue of Liberty. You have to come to NY for Christmas one year. You will absolutely love it!!! I know you love to shop (as I do) and I'm sure you know the shopping in NY is endless. It truly is the city that never sleeps. I've never been to California, but one of my goals in life is to vacation there in the near future. Being from NY, Cali seems like it's a world away.

So any who, I decided to check out your site today and to my surprise you posted a picture of the Hollywood sign! I'm surprised because I was in Hollywood the other day (my cousin came to visit) and she wanted to see the Hollywood sign after we left the Beverly Center. So we drove up the hill so she could get a picture to take back home, and there I was pulling off to the side of the road so she could get out the car and take a picture. I can totally relate, I felt like a huge tourist at that point, but I'm glad I was able to take her to see the sign.

Kim it is really beautiful when we went to HOLLYWOOD in june we visited it and took soo many pix its was sooo beautiful especially coming form chicago not evry day we see that glad you had fun! I live in Los Angeles yet I see the Hollywood sign more often on television than outside lol so whenever I see it, it is SO exciting!

I was driving on Sunset with a friend from out of town last month who had been out here several times, but the day before she had told me that the one thing she hadn't seen but that she really really wanted to was the Hollywood sign. With our schedules tight with other activities, I thought there was no way we'd be able to go see it. So as we were driving on Sunset on our way to pick up a friend, I looked to my left and there directly ahead was the sign! I pointed it out to her and it was very thrilling for the both of us lol It's like a mysterious sign that can be seen from a wide range but only through cracks between buildings so whenever I see it it has never been planned but the timing that day was amazing especially since I couldn't remember the time before that when I had last seen it :) But your shot is such a good view I love it!

I like photography also. I know what you mean about being compelled to take a picture of something. I do it all the time in my city which I have lived in forever. When I look back at those pictures, I'm glad I took them because it helps me remember pieces of my life, which I may not have remembered otherwise.
