I actually really like the lighter look.....a lot...normally you look gorgeous but here you look STUNNING, I think maybe the darker colors cover your features rather than bring them out. I'm more into lighter colors myself, but the smokey look is def. your signature...wear colors like this when you want to BLOW people AWAY! Seriously...oh and also, you should experiment w/ color a little! I know a lot of girls look to you for inspiration w/ eye makeup(especially since yu love mac) have steven inspire them even more by experimenting a little more. Kim, its all about the outfit and where you are going. if its a grown up classy outfit or something simple, go for the neutral less makeup look. if you are going out, or wearing something more sexy, go for the shadowy makeup. you look pretty either way!

I don't understand why people who claim not to like you very much frequent this site on such a regulart basis but I wont waste my time trying to fathom it out, and neither should you Kim. I think the make up looks gd, looks as if you've just put mascara on and thats it, like u have a natuarlly dewy face :)It's similar to how I wear mine, I like to just accentuate my eyelashes and then have really clear skin. I personally like this look on you better. However, my suggestion for you is lose the boufant hair, less smoky make-up and cakey make-up period. I've seen pics of you without and you look so much better just natural. Also, another word of advice, since we all are familiar with your ASSets, I think that you do not dress classy enough, low cut dresses/shirts all the time, always tight on the ass. You're an older woman, I think you should clean it up a bit. But do your thing girl, I'm not knocking you.

Hey there girl! Well I too have dark hair and dark eyes with an olive color complexion. When I choose to NOT to be so "made up" and opt out of wearing my eye makeup Im told that I still look naturally pretty. However, I also get a TON of comments that I dont look as "awake" or "refreshed". My eyelashes are very naturally long and they too dont stand out unless complimented by atleast SOME eyeliner etc. I saw a pic of myself with minimal makeup on and I too wasnt goin for it..just didnt feel like ME. I think youre gorgeous without any makeup but to me "Kim the Glamour Girl" can pull off the smokey eye look..day or night..and very well! It's a signature look for you girl! Dont change a thing :)

Of course you are beyond beautiful without make up. But I know that I like to look put together, like I took the time to make myself look polished. Your smoky eyes are beautiful, and I do not at all think that they are too much for the daytime. Maybe if you were fair skinned and blonde. But you're obviously not. So to me, I think that your smoky eyes are the way to go when you WANT to wear make up. They are beautiful, stunning. And it's not like you're CHANGING anything about your appearance (bleaching your hair, contacts) you are simply enhancing your truly beautiful natural features.

Hey Kim! I do like this look too, but i also love the DARK look. It just really depends what your mood is and where your going, if you went out at night or to a club it wouldn't fit the mood, but it would for a sunny afternoon lunch.

Are you trying to achieve the "simple look" meaning you want to wear less makeup, or do you simply want to LOOK like you're wearing less makeup, and don't really care about the condition of your skin?

I ask this because on second look at the above pics, you're still wearing quite a lot of makeup - the ONLY difference from your regular look is that you've gone easy on the eyeliner, but the rest is all there, caked up as usual.

A more feminine look can be simply achieved by ALLOWING your natural beauty to come through. Makeup makes it look like you've got something bad to hide - but you obviously don't.

Also I'd like to comment on your "BEEP" video. In a particular scene you looked very wide eyed and beautiful. What ever happened to that look? These days you're looking skinnier, harsher, older and more masculine. Sorry to end it on that note, but it's just my opinion.

Stick with a more natural look and attitude and you will appear more feminine and sweet.

wow u luk nice both ways but this is soo much more naturall..i hav dark features and light skin 2 and when i dont wear a lot of eye make up I wear i lot of blush. The blush makes your eyes more open without making your face luk washed out..so whenever you dont wear eye make up focus on your face and you will luk stunning! and the smokey ey luk is really gud aswell bcoz ur face can luk as pale as u like! lolz xx luv u kim..:PP

i love the lighter look! but i think you should even try toning down the eyelashes a little... a fuller and not quite as elongating mascara would look really nice!

I think that you can easily pull of both looks. But if your going to go with a lighter eye go with a darker lip color.

It's hard to tell from that camera lens, but I have to agree with Lila. Seeing you without caked-on makeup is unusual. Maybe if you wore less make-up more often, your new image will grow on us and we may even grow to really dig it.

Having said that, even your simple look will take a lot of make-up remover to get off. Why don't you try a short 'n' sweet make-up routine of mascara, a little lip gloss and some blush. You already have great skin from what I can see in the photo so you don't need to destroy it by layering it with make up. You're young. Enjoy it while it lasts! =)

I have a friend that always tells me not to wear heavy makeup during the day. Just use a little mascara just like you have in this picture and some light gloss. Be as natural as possible. So when you go out at night you can put the Smokey eyes and all that jazz. And people WILL notice you. They we'll be like Wow she looks different and Gorgeous!!If you were heavy make up every day people will be like "Oh look its (insert name) again. She always looks the same." No one would want that right?

Personally I've never gotten the whole make-up alla the time thing but I think the looks are obviously to achieve different things. Dramatic works for photoshoots, appearances etc.

But the softer more natural look is much better during the day- the best is to look "fresh faced" and this look is much more sophisticated.

I think the smokey look is more for night time, photo shoots etc. This lighter makeup is a more of an everyday look; Very fresh and clean. Now...regarding the make-up. I like it and it's more natural and suitable for day time wear than the deep shades. (Deep is pretty, to but for an appropriate event.) In my honest opinion, your lashes should be toned down some when wearing these lighter shades. It's lacking balance.

Have you tried the Nutrogena neutral shades? They come in flesh color with lots of shimmer. I bet you would look awesome.

I agree with those who said less makeup makes you look young and fresh. Your natural beauty is better able to come through. I'm the same age as you are, and I enjoy having people think I'm younger than I am. Your makeup always looks great, but in a Vegas showgirl way. A lot of women need to wear a makeup mask, but you don't.

i dont like the makeup on you with your hair pulled back. it makes you have the deer in the headlights look. i have never seen you without makeup, so i dont know if you are pretty with out it. but whatever, you are still having you 15 minutes of fame

K, me personally...I LOVE THE SMOKEY EYE! You look so exotic with the dark hair, eye lashes and dark shimmery make up. Don't get me wrong, the lighter make up is "refreshing" but the smokey look is so much more sensual and seductive...u carry off everything well, but my fav is the darker eye make up. You've inspired me to get the "dark on dark" look...dark eyes, hair, eyebrows and nude lip!?! FABULOUS!

This look not only looks super fresh on you but it's also good for a celebrity to alternate their looks. I say you should definetelly wear this look with confidence.I'm not a professional make-up artist although this is what I would slightly change: less mascara on the waterline lashes,instead some pearl highlight colour under your waterline lashes or at the corner of your eyes to make them pop, and a very small amount of a slightly darker eyeshadow colour on the outter corner to make a more defined statement of the eye(but keep that pink all over the lid). =D

Yes, less is more, because simply put; when you're naturally beautiful- makeup hinders what's there.

Besides that, the constant tugging at the delicate eye area (to remove and apply all that makeup) makes for sagging and wrinkling in the not so distant future.

And that's my two cents.

I like the lighter eye makeup...it gives you a more subtle and wholesome look...the smokey eye is very nice too but more vampy for nightime. Love ur show kim!

I love you no matter what Kim, but I will give you some constructive critism. You are, as you may know, beautyiful...with make-up, without make-up, with lots of make-up...you are stunning! With that said, I think if you are going to go for the more natural look instead of going for the shimmery, pinky looks (like the shadow you are wearing in the pic) go for browns, plums and shades of purple.

They are a little darker, but its a nice balance from the black..dark..smokey eye when you want something a little lighter

If you want shimmer do a goldish, or brown (sort of tan) shimmer instead of a whiter one...

The end result will bring out your beautiful brown eyes and prevent you from looking washed out.

Also, a big thing that helps is (even when going to big events) only highlight one feature! Don't do the dark smokey eye with dark lipstick...balance it out!

I think both look pretty on you. When you go out, smoky eyes look nice and for the day, the lighter look. I've also started wearing less eye makeup for a while too, especially in the summer. The people saying that you look gorjuzz here are not lying. People saying this over your smokey eye makeup just don't want to see you at your best. You have brown eyes so putting on the eye shadow suits you best since you don't have blue etc ...eyes. If you like smokey eyes stay with it. It looks glam. I suggest...just do the eyes and foundation with no lipstick or gloss or anything... for your day makeup.

You are so brave to put yourself out like this, asking us for suggestions. Of course that means that a lot of losers and haters are going to try and have their say. Ignore them! You look absolutely stunning here. I think this is a great look for anytime; your skin looks healthy and great.

You should consider playing around with darker glosses or sheer lipsticks. I think you'd look great in some Mac lipsticks, like Viva Glam or similar. Also, would you consider posting a list of products that you use? I'd love to copy the blush you have on.

Gorgeous, you look like a cartoon character. The natural look is awesome, but you gotta lay off the mascara. You have so much 'natural' to you that you should flaunt it.

You're so naturally gorgeous, if I were you, I'd use my fame to just perpetuate the idea that not wearing makeup is cool. Otherwise, you look awesome, but with those eyelashes, you look like a cartoon character. If you're going for the natural look, leave your eyelashes alone. You've got awesome natural eyelashes, let them show what they're worth!

In my opinion the dark eye look works great on you because you have large eyes, so keep that look for going out or for events, now if you're going to grab a cofee, pick up dry cleaning,etc..do this look. I agree with other posts, pretty girls dont need too much makeup...some mascara and some lip gloss and you're good girl!

I have a question about the eye make up. I would love to wear it to accentuate my eyes more, but I find that it sometimes gets into my eyes and causes an eye irritation. Does anyone else have this problem? I usually wear just eyeliner, but would love to try those "smokey eye" looks, too. :)

I think the lighter makeup looks nice. However I love the way you usually do your eye makeup.You said it yourself if you have a specific feature that is your best you should definately make it pop! In this case Kim your eyes are georgeous and like mine my best feature. Alot of people don't know but if you are really going to make your eye makeup pop they need to go with a nice gloss for lip color or soft tones which you are very aware of!

I like it! I love makeup too, so when you wear it heavy I think it looks amazing and exotic. The lighter eye makeup is good now and then because it is a change, it looks pretty as well every now and then!

You're a beautiful girl. I think they natural is better for day and the smokey eye for night. You look great in both styles. The only thing I am not feeling are the lashes looking like spiders. Those need to be toned down a bit for daywear.

I worked for a cosmetic company for a few years and had to get used to the smokey eye look for work. Now I can't seem to stay away from it lol. When I don't do a smokey eye people always assume their is something wrong. Do you get that alot as well ???

Ok, Here is the thing, You have a beautiful face naturally andyou need ot show that, I like the smoky look for night events but during the day this look is the way to go with one caveat. The mascara and curled eyelases wash out the eyeliner so that is why it looks a little weird. Us a little more liner (not smoky though) and the sweep the eyelashes out and not up with mascara so it follows the line. The rest of it is beautiful and I think you need to lighten it up or else people will see so much of you the smoky way and get burned out on your look.

If it is the same thing over and over, it gets old you know? Just a thought, Rock on pretty.

I love this look, it is simpler and better for the day time. Besides if you wear so much make up in the day slowly and little by little the skin on your eyes wont be able to take so much makeup. I know you are constantly under the public eye but try to show a lighter side like this picture during the day. Smokey eye is wonderfull i love to wear it like that but keep the smokey eye for night clubs, red carped events, and such. But this simple cute look is perfect for the show, hanging at home, going to lunch, etc.

Belive it or not, I have never written on a blog before, but wanted you to know that I love you new look.However, I had to write because I had to say that you can pull off the smokey look like no one can and it embodies your whole persona. My advice is that the smokey look, as well as your personal style has done wonders for you and your career, so if it isn't broke - don't fix it. I like the look but I have some advice. I have found that if you do heavy eye make up you should do a light lip, which you already do. So if you are doing a lighter eye, your lip should have more color. If you do a combination, like heavy eye, dark lip, it's like you have on way too much make up. However if you do a light eye and light or nude lip, it's like you aren't wearing any at all! I like the pink, but I think it would look great a little darker, or maybe redder? Anyway, that has always worked for me. It is nice to see your eyes.

hello, i once saw an episode of 'keeping up with the kardashians' where you appeared to have no eye makeup on, and that was the first time i thought you were drop dead gorgeous! you looked more youthful and feminine. most women look worse without makeup; you're lucky to look so good without it!
in a nutshell: good with dark colored eye makeup, but perfection with light colored eye makeup or all natural eyes!

You look lovely both ways. When you wear the lighter eye, try darkening your brows just a bit more. It will add definition and not look washed out. Also, try widening the space between your eyebrows. It will really make your eyes pop.

Im alot like you when it comes to style and make-up and I love your smokey eye I agree its your signature plus you have really pretty big eyes and it enhances your features with a nude lip. But with the light makeup you look alot younger and innocent :) lol I love the eyeshadow but the eyelashes are too much on the bottom especially if your doing a light eye shadow. I think with your thick eyebrows doing light makeup WITH your hair up im not sure what it is but it would look beautiful down and curly like how you wear it usually Im not lovin it up.

Well.. it definitely depends on where you're going. I like the lighter look for day time and casual family outings. The smokey look is pretty and fine for going out but it makes you look too "into yourself" when you wear it just hanging around. Your a gorgeous person, inside and out. So don't worry about it! Hi Kimmie! you look beautiful both ways. I think you should do this look during the day or when your wearing light colors (clothes wise) like pink, white, pastel or earthy tones. And do the smokey eye for darker clothes or at night or for your premiere or the clubs. It all about preference. I personally love make up and I think you should switch it up (lighter during the day, dramatic at night). I mean you dont want to have the same day and night look right?

i like the smoky eyes for some parties and late nights, but start using this! it shows off your natural beauty much better, and it's definitely better for the daytime.

i think it looks good, better than when you wear no makeup. i think you just need to know what kind of makeup is appropriate for what events/time of day .. that look is good for during the day.. and when youre just walking down the street.. but the smokey look is much better for night, going out to clubs, and red carpet appearances for glamourous events. sometimes you wear TOO much makeup, but no offense im not a fan of you without any.

i think that with your bone structure and the shape of your eyes, you really dont need much make-up, but maybe a little mascara and lip gloss, and a little pinch to your cheeks for a little color.

This is a great look for daytime- and since the eyes are toned down, you can experiment with different lip colors. Try Plumful by MAC with a little gloss over it; you'll love it! That being said, your usual look is absolutely killer and does not get enough credit at all..

I think your signature look is the smokey eyes. I was always looking at your pics before so I could get that look. But I do agree that for the daytime the smokey eyes is too much. This is a look i definitely go for during the day i have long eye lashes too, (my bf mother envies me lol all my friends pull on and thinks their fake) just put clear mascara and curl them. you go girl you're so pretty, like me lol. Kim you always look stunningly beautiful. Anything as far as makeup or clothes will look good on you because you are just naturally beautiful. But I do like this new make up style on you because it brings out a softer side. It makes you look very delicate and girly.

hey kim, you are gorgeous. ive seen pictures when you were younger and had no makeup and i noticed that your eyelashes are long and curly! i too have long eyelashes but they're long and straight! i use a curler then put on 2 different types of mascaras but about an hour later, they're back to being straight.
do you have any other tips i could try? and what do you think about eyelash perming?

this natural look makes your lashes stand out way more but i like the smokey eye better! :)

i love smokey eyes! but i think it should be saved for night time events.
too much make up makes it seem like you have something to hide (which you obviously don't) so just use it to enhance, not cover up.

this lighter look is a very veryyy refreshing change and i think it's a such great look:)

p.s. not sure if you coat your lower lashes with mascara , but if you did, i would stay away from doing that.
i also have long eyelashes at the bottom too and it doesn't look good when i coat them,.

I think that you look amazing both ways! the lighter eye make up is nicer for certain occasions, and the dark eye make up is nicer for other ones. and you most def. dont look like you cake your make up on because there are plenty of episodes where you arent wearing mke up at all and you obviously have natual beauty!!! so girls who think you cake on ur make up are jealous and they know you dont need to cover anything up!

This look is great for daytime. I love your dark shadow as well, and wish I knew how to do it!!

Generally, I think less makeup is better, but the more smokey eye has become your trademark. I don't think it looks over-done on you. The new look, to me, doesn't look like "you," but that doesn't mean it's not fine for day-to-day.

girl either one looks good on you i always go light with shimmery looks i never got the smoky look but when i go back to the mac counter i will give it a try. by the way i know you gave some tips on how to get your hair shiny i have one for you us dominicans use is a home remedy you take olive oil,avocado and mayonnaise and put it in the blender mix it up and put it on your hair b4 shampooing it and leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes max and wash off and never dye your hair kimmy i just dyed my hair back my natural color it's just like yours and long as yours it is the worst mistake ever especially when you have differents dyes on top you'll never know what color it will come out to be keep up the good work love the way you dress

I think you look better with darker eye shadow. But I think you should try a little less and a little less dark. Maybe a just a little sheer brown eye shadow for a more natural look. I think you look beautiful on the show when it looks like you have no makeup on.

This light stuff though is unflattering on most people I think, except maybe light blondes.

How do you do your nails? I have acrylic nails and have been trying to kick it but cant i am addicted I would be will to try natural or gel or silk on my real nails which is what i think you do..not sure..whats up with the nails Kim? Give me the dirt on the nails...

for day you should do the light one because you have such a gorgeous face and you dont need a lot of make up. but for night you should definitely do the smokey eyes.

I love this new refreshed cute look. I know the smokey eye is your signature look but there is no need for so much make up for regular day outings! save it for the glam nights out. and u can keep the light make up but dont forget the bronzer =)!!! and u can go half way like it doesnt have to be extreme smokey eye or extreme light ...find happy mediums for those diffrnt outfits!

when you yourself are used to wearing a lt of make up or just neceseraly used to wearing certain types pf make up, it can take quite a while for you, yourself to feel as confident or used to it when you take it off. smokey eyes are sexy and suit a woman like you, not only does it make youe eyes look bigger and bolder it makes your face stand out, however times and fashion changes just like make up, new colours are bound to catch your eye and whenever you feel ready for change then do so. and remember less is more x

firstly i love the new look. if you feel that its a lil plain then i shud def. think u should put a thicker line of black eyeliner on the top of ur eyes (not too thick) so ur eyelashes dont look super long like spider legs(they are very pretty tho, and ive been using revitalash for almost 6 months) so yea but for the eyeshadow just keep it light like it is now- a beige or nude color is always great, just try a thicker top liner minus the smokey eyes tho. but u shud def. still do smokey eyes only at nights or spec. occasions.

Actually I think your one of the few celebrities that still look stunning with out makeup ( the rare times that I have seen you without) but at the same time I don't think going lighter is a good look for you. You look more exotic with the Smokey eye look. If you want to go with a " lighter" look then I would suggest no makeup, or very minimal make up. But I’m not feeling the look in that pic...

I would go with the lighter make up as an everyday wear (day) and the darker smokey eye look for parties, events, and such (night). I think you look really good with the DARK smokey look, but maybe stick with at night...I think that its too much for daylight.......maybe you can do this lighter look during the day. I have seen you on the show without makeup and you look really pretty. Im also addicted to makeup and have been using it since 15 and im not used to leaving th ehouse without at least a couple things but for the past year I have toned it down quite a bit. So to sum it up....I like the smokey more (it looks nice with your dark hair and your eyes) but you should stick with that at NIGHT and this for daylight.

I am actually a make-up artist for MAC and that is the direction that we are heading towards. I too have lessened my eye-liner and am wearing a maximum of two colors on my lid. Try doing a crease that is less pink like soft brown or bamboo. I am sure Lorac has something similar.

Its a great look on you--for daytime--but out at night, its all about being sultry and you do that best with the smokey eyes. Regardless, you wear them both well.

Kim I think this look is stunning on you. Especially for during the day it is a fresh natural look. But I do love your dark makeup too. So I would wear the lighter during the day and still rock the darker makeup for night time events and going out. Either way you look gorgeous so whatever you do will look great!

The lighter look looks better on you because it accentuates your beautiful and exotic features. When you have striking looks, like you do, it is better to just lightly accentuate them instead of covering it up. Every once in a while you can do the darker look, either look looks good on you, but during the day the lighter look looks much better. I definitely do agree with the motto that "less is more"! :-)

I think that you are a stunning, but it has to be said that you do sumtimes go overboard with the make-up and hair.
