Hey guys,

So last week I came back to town and stopped by the Beverly Hills police department sobriety checkpoint to talk to teenagers about the risks of drinking and driving.

I shared my story with them... hopefully you will find it impactful:

When I was about 15 my dad would take me driving with him every weekend to make sure I was prepared to get behind the wheel. He made me make a promise to him that, no matter what, I had to go out with my sister Kourtney and her friends, because he knew they were a little older than me and they may be drinking. I promised him I would always drive them home, and no matter what time it was, I had to call him to let him know we made it to our friends' houses safe and sound if we slept out. I always wanted to make him proud!

I also explained to the teens how much I absolutely hate the taste of alcohol! I have never liked it! Sometime peer pressure can be tough to deal with but I let the teenagers know that it's cool to not drink! They agreed!

I also brought Reggie along with me, who shared his story of determination to make it into the NFL, and that partying just didnt fit in his equation. It's cool that neither one of us drink!

Another point I made to the group was what can happen when you do make  the wrong choices. I shared Khloe's story about how she got a DUI... because realistically most people like to drink. It's just about being responsible when you do drink. I expalined how Khloe has to live with her consequences of getting a DUI and how she is dealing without a license today.

It's totally fine to drink if you are of age, but it's just not acceptable to drink and drive!

For those who are of age, what is your drink of choice? I wish i could say I had one... If I had to choose, I would probably go with kahlua and milk!

I agree..i have a dad who use to drink and drive! I can't tell you how happy I am that he stopped! I can't even imagine what that would have done to our family! Thanks for spreading the word!! BESOS

Hi Kim,
I think it's great that you don't drink and you share your opinion with others. I have a friend who has drinking friends and when he made the decision to stop drinking, his friends really pressured him to drink. His friends don't understand that he chooses not to drink b/c he's tired of feeling the hangover. I never realized how bad peer pressure can be. I myself have never been a drinker, so I cannot relate to that. I simply do what I want and don't care what other people think - but for some people, especially guys, it's not that simple. I'm so happy that you are a positive role model for teens and that you and Reggie are involved in these community efforts to show teens that's okay not to drink. Keep up the great work!

Hi Kim. I don't drink either for real. Every weekend when me and my sister goes out I'll have 1 drink the whole weekend and she'll have a few or a couple of strong ones. And I'll drive because I have 2 little kids and a DWI isn't cool at all. My kids are my world.I have a 8yr old and a 11 month old and I would never want to see a disappointing look in their eyes when it comes to me doing something that I should no better. I wasn't raised to drink all the time. I can't really remember my parents really drinking. My Dad a beer where and there but, my mother never drinks. So, I have to much to gain for not messing up my life.
It's nice to hear that you do things out of the goodness of heart and not for $$. This is something that we wouldn't have heard about on TMZ. Just silly stuff about you like that guy that took a picture of you getting in the car and your underwear was showing and he deleted the picture. That was nice!!

Dear Kim,
That is amazing that you guys are talking to teens about this very important issue...and I wish I was there to hear Reggie speak about determination! You guys are such an inspiring couple and I am sooo glad that you guys are reaching out to people. Keep it up Kim!

I think thats kool that u don't drink, not everyone has to drink 2 have fun...

Kim,

That's awesome that both you and Reggie went to be great examples for the class, and well, to all of is. It's very important to drink responsibly. When I go out, I do have a drink or a beer, but if I do end up drinking one more than what I really should, I'll stay over with the closest relative or else stay in the parking lot passing time to make sure I'm ready to drive home. I am very careful.

I'm not a big drinker, but once in a while is fine with me! My favorite drink would have to be Gin and Tonic. NICE!

I love that you are not afraid to say what you're about! That's great. I think it is important for you to stick up for what you believe in and let yourself be heard, because people are automatically going to look up to you. Good job Kim :)

I don't drink anymore, but that's only because I wanted to change my life around. Just a personal choice really!

xoxo

Ever had a Mojito? ;)
I bet you have! It's like the most delicious drink everrrrrr ! ;D

Hey Kim. Thanks for sharing your story and Khloe's story. I too, am in the same boat as her. I got my OWI in Sept. of last year. It is selfish to drink and drive, but after you've been drinking, you don't think about the consequences. You feel invincible. I am thankful, I didn't hurt anyone and that I didn't wreck. I was pulled over for having my license plate lamp out =/
Although, I was extremely urked that it had happened to me, IT NEEDED to happen. It definately was a blessing in diguise and I'm thankful everyday. Its great you spoke up about it in L.A. People need to know, but unfortunately, I've learned that not many people will care unless something awful happens to them or a loved one. And I have lost MANY to drinking and driving. I learned my lesson.Cab it up or don't drink at all. Thank you!

xoxo

Kim I absolutely love that neither you or Reggie drink! It's about time a gorgeous celeb isn't a total boozer (what a good role model). I personally do not enjoy alcohol either, and I don't see what the big deal is. Thanks for being so cool. <3

Reggie might not drink but by looks of most of your pictures when yu guys are out , he gets his TREEEZZZZ IN!!!

wow i really admire you for not drinking. i only have drank once and i didnt like it. you already are my favortie celebrity but knowing this makes me respect you even more :)

Anything that ends in "bomb," I'll drink though I have to admit I drink maybe once a month. I'm not a big partier but getting sauced once in a while, having some good laughs and a safe ride home is a fun time in moderation.

That was a very cool thing you and Reggie did. I'm glad to see that you both are trying to impact someones lives in a positive way. Although I do drink, I must say I do NOT drink and drive. I also dont make it a habit of over drinking. I prefer Patron, Crown Royal, Grey Goose and Malibu when I do drink.
