Okay, this is going to be a long post because I absolutely love makeup! And I mix
so many different kinds.

Here we go…

Just so everyone knows, my make up artist Stephen Moleski has pretty much
taught me everything I know.

Remember that everyone’s color is different so please ask someone at the
store you go to purchase your makeup what works for you. Even if
you think we have the same skin coloring, our tones can be different and
I don’t want anyone to waste money on concealer or foundation colors that
aren’t absolutely perfect you!

…Get all of my 10 steps here!

By the way, the inspiration for this post came from the many makeup questions I’ve read in the comments section including this one…

XOXO,
Kim

P.S. Stay tuned because I’m planning to do a video blog of me actually putting my makeup on — to show you all of my helpful tips in action.

I totally have to disagree with the heavy eye makeup. I thnk you looked great with it. The smokey eye look is so hot on a night out or for wear during the winter months. I think that was your signature style. Also do you wear false eye leashes by chance? I’ve tried to put them on many times and its so hard!
I’m an african american female and I want to wear peaches and pinks during the summer month but I feel like my skin tone is too dark…I just may have to go to a makeup counter to see what I can wear. I want to be fresh for the summer!
    Thanks

I love make up as well and as a African American woman it was hard to find the perfect makeup for my skin tone. I’m more caramel toned but some parts of my face are lighter and darker instead of even all around. I think that the best color on lips for African American women are nude lips, deep reds and plums…preferably Matte instead of shiny. I just wanted to let you know that the best place to go is Sephora for any problems trying to know what looks best on your skin. They are amazing. They help from the skin first. They want to make sure your skin is great so ultimately you wouldn’t have to wear that much make up period.

Thank you! I already went out to purchase the exact lipcolors you wear (previous post) and I must say….I love they way they look on my olive skin. I’ve been trying to accomplish this look for a few years now to no avail. I always thought light pink was not for me, but when you have the right light pink, it makes all the difference! Thanks!

    Hey Kim

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Your tips are extremely helpful but I’m still very exited for you to post an actual video of how you apply your make-up because I am a beginner with make-up application and seeing it in writing only tells me so much :(. Still, thank you for the taking the time to care and answer your fans questions.

    Love,
    Jhanna.

P.S. Kim you look gorgeous with make-up, whether it is heavy or natural , or without make-up. You are a beautiful person inside and out.
